I voted against prestige and I did read the article. It's clear that the majority didn't approve of the update and I'm thankful for the poll. I'm not against a revamp of the hi-scores but prestige was not the way to do it.

Please stop saying that all the people that voted no didn't read the update, I'm sure the same is true for some of the people who voted the opposite. You're saying the majority of the people who voted no didn't understand prestige, but the fact that there is a poll suggests otherwise as it was requested by the people who were not fond of the update. People who wanted the update wouldn't have asked for a poll. I'm confident we can find a way to recreate the hi-scores in a way that benefits the whole community.

Also, I'm not one of those Rs players who hates change, normally I approve of most updates, this is the first time I have ever spoke up against an update.

Thanks for reading.

You need a system where player loses XP, goods, and features too, not just gain and gain. I know it may sound crazy, but it would make the game a little more challenging and everyone would have a chance to be on top of the lists.
Over the years you have softened the game just to the point it becomes boring after a while, there are no challenges, no soul to the gameplay. You can't lose anything anymore, you can't die (that easily) anymore, there is inflation of certain items (as you can't lose them) and now you can buy your lvls with real money if you go it.
But the point is, if you want to renovate interest in the gameplay and competitiveness, you need to make drastic changes.
some examples would include:
-lose certain amount of XP if you die, as well as certain features.
-Remove or limit gravestones and how they work.
-Make things more difficult as the player ranks higher (this will make it harder for them to stay on top)
-And make the game a little more challenging overall
you wouldn't have to replace the current highscore, just create a new, special one where everyone starts from zero.

there are just some raw ideas of mine, so I'm sure there may be some issues... but you guys can come up with something better than Prestige at least!

120 skills

I'd rather go for lvl 120 - IF - there was actually any new content or benefit from it.

Like for example

- cooking (no burning sharks at some point even without gauntlets etc.)
- construction (more rooms, put all pets into menagerie ...)
- thieving (getting less pwnt by elves, dwarf traders, gnomes on the way to 120)
- prayer (maybe some prayers that assist non cmb skills would be nice?)

Before i start apologies for spellings grammer etc

An idea for prestige system to still be able to work

With this update must of taking time of a few Jmods to work it all up and i assume this was tested to see if it could be done with minimum distrubance to us the players and with it being a OPTIONAL update what i have thought a way around is:-

Instead of Prestige taking over the legendary high scores why not develop it as Prestige acctually being the secondary high scores. I am not just saying this due to i was looking forward to the update as when i first read it i thought what a worst ever idea ever but then i took time to think of some pros & ****

Pros:-
Items would rise and stabalise better at what they used to be more like and stay there
Players that are maxed get to acctually see levels again i.e if they was working towards a xp goal in a skill or all skills levels would give them more of a idea what they was at instead of xp watching)
PvM would be worth peoples time
Skillers could make money again
Players could see how the game as changed from a low level perspective without dedicating time to a new account and work on the accounts they have invested time and money into

Cons:-
There really wasnt much i could think of here as its OPTIONAL if u want to reset your skills
Players that are not already 99 in certain skills would have to spend more gp to get (but so many old money making guides would counter that)

I suggested resets for 99s years ago but my suggestion was to trade in your 99 for a unique special ability(pertaining to the capped skill).
Also, as long as prestige doesn't take into consideration retroactive xp gained, it would never be a true representation of ingame accomplishments.

Back when there was only a few thousand of us playing it was nice to know you was in the top 50, but now there are so many the whole idea of a highscores table seems a bit of a waste. I really don't think saying "grind more and you will get on" is really going to interest many, don't get me wrong, its nice to know where you skills stand between your friends/clan but past that i don't see anything to interest me.

Personally i agree with the idea of raising the max levels. But to do that there must be a benefit. Id like to see some untradeable high level items for instance level 110-120 armour, jewelry, weapons, free teleports/fast travel or skill benefit gear such as thieving gear that stops you getting caught. Or even new titles and emotes.
