Well, I wanted prestige, but I have to admit, this is a good thing. Even if I personally wanted it, I don't want to see something put into the game that will make everyone else complain.

What I'm really hoping for next is a system similar to prestige, but with all the major problems fixed.

Problems I noticed many players had with the system

- a painful back stab to pretty much anyone in the top couple thousand on the hiscores.
- The fact that players will feel the game is incompleteable.

Solution

Well, there are several ways to fix that first bullet, but pretty much nothing to fix the second one other than keeping the game the way it is.

- You could simply combine the hiscores together, but make them sortable by highest xp or highest prestige, and leave highest xp as default, to make prestige seem more secondary and optional.
- You could also award any xp exceeding level 99 BEFORE this was implemented to someone who has prestiged either in the form of bonus xp, or getting as much as it takes to reach 99 again all at once after the player has reached 90 again and continuing every prestige until its all used up.

You're probably going to go back to the drawing board on this one though and develop something completely different, which I think is a real shame. I think if this was adjusted to the way most players want it before release, it would have been awesome.

Firstly thankyou mod jack for listening and I have been following a few of your threads in general forums and in the high level content forums :

I see a lot of people suggesting 120 in all, and some have under 10 99's.
Feel that this is really a bit early in their RS career to be wanting all to 120. At least attempt 120 dung then have a think.

Anyway my thoughts, just because I think 120 in 'all skills' is not for everyone, and might put off a lot of players, but will attract the select few.

1. All skills to 110 (38m), except for see section 2.
----------------------------------
Understandably there is a few skills that will be a complete headache to get to 38.
Should allow faster xp content tho (here is 3 ideas for example):
New agility courses with more outfit rewards.
Higher level alters for construction, maybe a really high level herb too for burning too, and high prayer req to be able to use it.
If combat becomes higher, possibly addy, rune, and dragon dragons(haha), or brutal blues, reds, blacks.
Many more possibilities.

2. Combat Skills
=========
I think combat should be one of the most important things in RS, as far as being able to be more powerful than others so the following :

Attack, Defence, Strength, Mage, Range, Summoning, HP
-----------------------------------------------------------------
All to either level 120 (104m xp) level 126 (A little short of 200m xp) or remove cap on combat max xp, allowing people to continue combat indefinitely to become stronger.
I have included summoning here, due to you will be collecting lot of charms while doing cb, and excluded prayer and kept it in the 38m category. 38m would make a huge demand for bones, and be bad enough. 104m would cause bones to go out of control for a very long time, however the pros of this is people get good cash for collecting if they want to do this.

Cheers

While the Prestige System would have added more playability and goals for players, it was simply too much. It was 100% optional but with so many players having a competetionist attitude, while benefiting the company, could have added more then what a player may like to do. This could have lead to more players botting to each their goal, or grinding (which from what I've seen from many YouTubers is the reason they quit RuneScape)

My suggestion is a title unlocked at 26M xp in a skill (exluding Dung? idk) i.e. 26M xp in Agility could give the title "Agile" ;) Fisherman(or Angler) for fishing LumberJack for WoodCutting Architect for Construction and so on. A simple achievement yet twice the xp of a 99(minus the fact that you already have the best xp rates unlocked versus starting for Lv1)

Prestige sounded like a neat idea. 200m xp never felt like a very attractive goal to me,
so creating an alternate progression system for vanity that lets you go back and level a skill you enjoy feels pretty awesome.
Although I can understand how some people would dislike the impact it had on highscores.

Looking forward to seeing a new and revised system that will hopefully please the crowd.

THANK YOU

i cannot express how happy i have been with the updates and community management lately, THANK YOU.

now for my 2 cents.
it would be very interesting to see an increase on level caps, such as the combat levels for starters(i would love to start leveling magic passed 99 :p). this also allows for so much more content, my personal favorite is the possibility of a next tier of quests, higher levels = higher level requirements and quests above grandmasters.

120 caps on levels would probably make everyone happy, hopefully you add it to the next vote. Thanks for reading :)

Because 120 in every skill would mean about 2.7b exp to max for every player, which is beyond most players' reach. The goal of prestige was to add a goal for people that wanted to (ideally high-level, maxed players or others that really enjoyed a skill) while not affecting other players that didn't want to participate.

Very pleasing to hear that didn't go through. Such a hiscore would indirectly support and become a factor of increased unhealthy game play. As getting 99 isn't enough time spent in front of a computer.

I didn't vote, because I felt that it would hurt those players who already have a gaming addiction, and are struggling to see beyond Runescape.. that there are more to life than just to play Runescape 15 hours every day.

This is the reason I voted no.
