I just have to say that I am so glad to see what appears to be a genuine poll!

Compare this to the "wildy back" fiasco/debacle/con-job and it could not be more different.

It can't be rigged by people (bots) making huge amounts of new accounts, there's no lies (like "yeah trust us we can stop bots right now" ) conning anyone into voting one way or another, and the whole thing doesn't feel like the decision was already made and the poll is just a sham.

Thank you so much for doing it right!

I don't even care what the outcome is now, I'm just so glad to see Jagex at least know how to do a fair poll :)

For the record, I'll vote no, because I believe with a rethink and thinking through the consequences, a prestige system can be much better and meet the goals without the downsides this one appears to have.

I really liked the idea of the prestige system, however the poll isn't looking good for it so far, the main issue I have seen people having with the system is that it is replacing the highscores as the main highscores and not a secondary highscore.

If no wins on the poll would we be seeing the prestige system release in the future without the highscores for it maybe? that way we can still get the cosmetic rewards and be able to level again without starting new accounts

I haven't yet decided which way I'll vote, but I have some comments:

Items prices. Yes, the prices of low to mid level raw materials would to rise. And that's a bad thing, because...? Heck, players (prestigers and firts-timers alike) might actually have to mine the ores, chop the logs and get the bones themselves instead of buying them. Boo hoo. The downside is that there's going to be even more products on sale (smithed armour, bows, cooked food, potions etc.). And that's not a very good thing, all be it that the number of the players deciding to prestige would probably be rather low.

The amount of time spent grinding. It's a good thing the time spent playing RS isn't public info on the Adventurers log. I'm actually rather ashamed of how huge that number is for me... O_o This update would give more fuel to gaming addicts.

P.S. Adding the restriction about accounts having to be created before this all is a very good thing!

My last post was kind of a mess of thoughts vomited into the text field so allow me to clarify my point;

If prestige fails to achieve 75% approval, do not consider 120 skills as an option . I'm not sure why so many people think this would be a solution. It wouldn't be. 100m+ xp to max each skill is so ridiculous that I would stop playing on principal - my health and my personal life would not be able to accommodate such outrageous grindage.

I can imagine how many other current players would feel the same, much less anyone just starting to play for the first time. Don't overwhelm your players with impossible goals. Just don't do it.

The majority of low to mid level items are sold by NPCs and their prices would therefore remain in check. Consumables, however, as well as mid to high level equipment, are generally not sold by NPCs and could thus rise in price significantly.

The only reason to add this to the game is so that maxed payers will have something to do. I for one is against this, this doesn't add anything to the game, if you want to prestige just create a new account and problem solved. Starting from scratch offers a way bigger challenge then just resetting your stats. Also after gaining 200m xp do you really think people will be interested in getting another 200m or 400m xp or whatever?

Wouldn't it be better to fix the dead mini-games, content that people in all levels can enjoy? After all I do believe that most people that play rs rather have something to enjoy while they are online e.g. a good mini-game, sw, fog**** etc etc could really use an update. You can only train a repetitive skill for so long until you get bored and want to do something else.

Mini-games is something that will be appreciated by people in all levels and mini-games is one of the reasons why rs was so good back in the days. I really hope you take this under consideration.

I as alot of others i am sure are glad that you are on line answering some of our questions!
Do you think it will be possible in the future to have a player base help you with some of your update ideas so it doesn't come to polls?
I understand that there is a suggestions forum for you guys to hear our ideas, but its not a 2 way street.
I was thinking that even if it was a group of players such as mods or maybe you can create a small group of people in game.
Just an idea

i think it'd be epic if skills could be extended to 120 like dungeoneering also 120 skill capes / emotes that are better then the 99 versions like 120 dunge cape is / abilities for combat and for non combat more content / ways to train like you have with the tree update but further :D

i think 200m xp deserves a cape too lol thats dedication right there!!!

if the prestige system would rule out the chance of any of that happening i'd definitly vote NO

if prestige wouldnt effect that chance i'd vote YES if people want to get moar xp so be it i myself dont see the problem with having a overall high scores and a prestige version

im a noob and wont vote anyway this is my opinion of the subject :D
