Lodestones were heavily redundant to existing transport in the first place, but I was okay with the ones in free to play, as they have access to far less transport than members.
Now lodestones have gone from overpowered to
the only viable transport in the game.

I used fairy rings to get to oog'loog and canifis, charter ships or a crystal seed for isafdar, a fremennik lyre for relleka,
all these had perfectly good existing teleports that are now useless.
The worst one is Isafdar, which had a big appeal in being isolated. During the Regicide quest, you have to live off the land, catching and cooking your own fish for food, or taking massive bank trips through the treacherous underground pass.
That was amazing!
I want more of that, but now you've killed it instead!
What's next, a lodestone in mort'ton so people don't have to deal with ghasts? A squeal of fortune item that makes the desert harmless? Oh wait..
Just making more content useless, give the lodestones some requirements each time you use them or something.
The game land is already so small, now we don't even need to walk around very much to get to once remote areas. Making the agility skill even more useless.
Sorry but this just really bothers me.
if (I swear to God) it's a requirement to activate the wild lode for comp cape (not gettin yet till maybe few years or so) I'm gonna be maybe hatin myself and Jagex for that part of update.

Lodestones really need some restrictions placed at the very least.
Since you do not seem to go back on implementing content I've noticed, at least do damage control with what you've done.
At least minor quest restrictions in line with their teleports. Plague City for ardougne, Watchtower for Yanielle, that sort of thing.
I don't get why we can't have a bigger req for lodestones personally. I know they said they're buffing teleports so I will reserve judgment until they do, but I think lodestones should be powered with runes similar to a POH.
They are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY to overpowered. I mean - a free teleport to the elf lands? Come on, the whole part of that place is it feeling like a maze and a challenge...
Looks like I got my work cut out for me in activating those 7 new Lodestones once they get released, but I'm going to have nothing on me when I go to each one of them unless a specific teleport spell or item is needed for me to get to that Lodestone.
I use them for when going after the penguin spies if I plan to go hunting for them and the polar bear agent as well.
I still use the teleport spells from the normal spell book and have rarely used the ones with ancients active.
I have a bit of a feeling that we will either see something new added in Solomon's store on release day after both the Shadow cosmetic outfits are removed and all the Lamp parts, Lamp of the Djinn and Bottled Genie from the SoF, but then again I could be wrong about this.

Putting in more lodestones won't make me use areas any more than I already do. If you want to increase the popularity of areas then alter the content of them.
Decreasing player interaction or making things like law runes redundant doesn't do a lot for me. I like to interact with games I play, not watch them play themselves out. I'm finding this more and more with RS these days (EOC excepted). Games that you hardly interact with are no challenge and get boring very quickly. Perhaps this is why I don't log in as much any more
