The problem isnt eoc, the problem its tht they made a new game, old combat style was good, the action bar its very helpfull, but the hp, itens, no lvls, no skulls, its to much, if i want to see a game with big hits and hps i go play other mmorpg, with better graphics and skills..**** was unique, now its just another game online like the others... and if ur equal the others mmorpg, u dont have a chance rofl

Sorry about my bad English =\

I have read many, many posts about EoC updates, complaints and advice. By far, no matter what post it is, it turns into a discussion over what should/shouldn't have happened, a huge argument over how they feel about the update or people throwing their hat in the ring claiming that time played or combat level decides who feels what about this update.

95% of this information is horrendous spam and isn't helpful in any way...other than to kill time by giving the masses drama to read or the ability to troll...both while still playing the game no matter how they feel about it because we're all hooked.

I hit my 10 year mark as a player earlier this year meaning this is NOT the first update I have seen to Rune Scape. yet, it's the same old story from the community. "I don't like this", "This shouldn't have happened", or "OMG take it back". But have these people actually spent a large amount of time to learn this new system? You can't knock something until you've tried it. Granted several aspects of this were seen in the Beta, I will disagree that the actual update was a twin to the beta. The update has been out less than 48 hours, instead of spending your time writing posts & spamming hate, TRY PLAYING IT!

I was dead set against this update, as it takes me a long time to adjust to change when I've become used to a system's functions for years. I sat there with high blood pressure, singing Kumbaya and holding a virtual candle light vigil with friends as that count down timer dropped to zero yesterday morning. But...We all jumped in head first, experimented...and found our niche.

I didn't spam forums, threaten people, or cancel members. I sucked it up and actually gave it a chance. I'm not saying everyone will like this, as some people probably will quit...but why not give it a CHANCE before you jump to conclusions!?

This is well into the pages of this post and will probably not be seen by many...but it summarizes how I feel. & TY Jagex =))

@Plum Nutty 1,

Weeeeelllll... I hate to pick, but I always had to hit enter to send my messages, so it's only really an extra press which will take a few days to become second-nature.

But more than that, if you're fighting something that you don't really need to focus on, enough that you have the time to chat at the same time, you won't need to use the Action Bar as you won't be using Abilities. So the passive combat alongside "simple" chatting is still very much possible, in my view. Or am I missing something? :)

All the best,
Mod Drebin

I would call myself a veteran, and I love the EOC.

My main reason for playing rs is because it constantly changes. I watch the main pages as a hawk for the next big thing in the life of runescape.
I would have quit ages ago had it not been for change.
Evolution is good, change is good :) change is RuneScape

What you consider something you dont have to focus on and what others consider something they dont need to focus on is two very different things. Its unique for each person as not everyone are strong fighters. Where you may not need to focus on a fire giant, I may need to as it may be a tough battle for me making that extra click a pain. :P

I will add that this is the only thing so far that I have found that I really don't care for. :)

Well, the fights could be more balanced if bosses had to deal with random crashes, freezes, lags, "disconnects" and pop-up SoF ads.

Nothing new here, since sloppy coding seems to have become the new norm at Jagex, with the game freezing once per hour on average. With most monsters, this was survivable under the old combat system, now they're an incalculable risk.

Never liked combat much, and staying away from it now 24/7. Herblore and Prayer are now as pointless as most equipment and many old quirky abilities, including many quest rewards.

Maybe you'll fix it, maybe not, and most likely we'll see the gaps covered by ever more microtransactions.

--------

And for the all-ignoring J Mods: Be happy for every player who still gives you critical, honest feedback on the forums. You routinely discard feedback that is not just praise in general, and at most bickering on the details. Most people have given up.

That helped deluding yourself on just how "popular" EoC is (and the SoF), since players have given up participating in twisted, well-hidden polls or writing here, just in order to be discounted as an irrelevant "vocal minority".

Instead, they just stay away.

I understand that every game must undergo changes, and I must be honest, and say that I am liking this new EoC update. So this isnt a major complaint or whine like 'I wanna quit' etc.. because I dont and I will not be leaving. yet. The Duel weilding is amazing.. the new armours and weapons are interesting and also it has made skilling more enjoyable for me as well.

However, I do have 1 problem with it.. I know that you mods probably wont read my response as its not like many people have a similar complaint.. but it is to do with the changes of the xp system. I know that you are trying to get people to train with higher monsters/creatures to decrease the amount of bots roaming around the game, but I really dont like/ understand the changes to XP gain. Im a Combat level 159 and I was trying to get my ranged up by killing level 205 Shades. But I was only gaining little xp.. and seeing as the levels are far apart I dont see why I am not getting the full xp.. until I noticed that they have no level in ranged. I just want to know why you made such large changes in xp gain?

Anyhoo.. As soon as I get used to killing things with the new toolber.. I cant wait to tryout a boss..
