Ruined my favorite game of all time, I could have beared the micro-transactions but this is too much, the new combat system is not better in any way and is bad in every way. That's why there is no point to give more in-depth feedback because that's all to it.

Edit: Whoops! I posted my reply at the end here, rather than editing it into my original post. Derp. >_<

Saleen375: "As a 5 year vet, i really dont support this update, i think most of the people who support the update are new players, since they haven't really played for a while and don't know the game any better. The veterans that support eoc probably don't train combat much, and don't care. Last week, i could log on and see 125000 people on, a few years ago i could log on and see 225000 people on, when i started in 2007, i would see probably 300000 people logged in. The game's slowly dying, and i'm just waiting for my membership to run out :| i won't quit for a few months, because i'm hoping jagex will remove this update, but if they don't, i probably will."

As a 7 year veteran, I'd have to disagree. I was always a combat freak before the beta and ultimately the implementation of the EoC into the live game; I'm okay with this update because it isn't all that terrible. This is mostly because people despise change; this update was long-coming and click/wait combat is generally boring as all hell. Even in PvP, it was the biggest potter and specer, timing was crucial for both combat systems, and the biggest try-hard will always win fights, this remains true.

Don't assume that all vets that support/are neutral about this update never trained combat much from the start, or that all supporters are new players. I'd agree that quite a large chunk are new players because they're new to the ways of RS.

I've adapted with this update as I have all previous updates, whether I disliked them or not, *ecause it is just a game, after all.
That's my reply.

I dont know if this should be here, but there it goes:

i couldn't see the video yet, but for the amount of people saying "awesome" and "cool", i guees is 20% cooler.

now, some feedback... i was doing PVM yesterday, and it was awesome. just some things:

Why are the cockroach soldiers sooo weak now? and why is it sooo hard to kill lesser demons with melee? it used to be easier... other thing, when are blastboxes coming back and why my runecrafter robes are useless?

edit: i play this game since... the xmas event where you get a candy bar... i dont know if i am a veteran or a new noob, but i have been around for a while. dunno how the time spent playing makes my statament better or worse, but everyone seems to be doing it now...

I rarely feel it necessary for me to post on the forums, but as a veteran of almost 10 years (I have the Halloween scythe to prove it) when I first heard that Jagex was changing the combat system I became incredibly excited. While I'll always remember the simplicity of the click, watch TV, collect loot combat system, I now grow anxious for the possibilities that the new combat system provides.

Unfortunately, many people are too quick to judge the EOC, and because of that I felt compelled to say, just give it a chance. Over the course of the next few weeks, and possibly months, I expect Jagex to have several patches pertaining to some of the issues that many have with the EOC. I personally, really enjoy the new combat system, as it provides some excitement to this very simple game. There have been many times over the past decade I have stopped and thought "Welp, now what to do?", and combat was rarely an answer to that dilemma because it was just like every other stat, click, and wait. Now there is variation, and variation is good. Many players are jumping ship quickly at the sight of their dear game being changed, I for one say, "Push on Jagex!" because while the start to EOC may have its flaws, I have faith in the developers that have continued to keep my attention for years.

To the players quitting, I will not beg you to stay as it is your own decision, but I will say do not be ignorant. Give it a chance, stick around and try out some of the old content that you enjoyed before, except now with a twist to it. Try some of the new content that Jagex releases over the next few months. Why spend all the time and money that you have just to abandon all hope over a drastically needed update? Many of you say, "Don't fix what isn't broke" and i agree, but there was a ceiling to the potential of the old combat system, and the EOC raises that ceiling, to heights that have yet to be determined.

I fully support the EOC, good work Jagex. Rant now over.

Mod Drebin said "And you still have the option to hide the Action Bar when you're not fighting so you can chat without needing to hit "enter" first. There's really nothing that has changed other than giving everyone a massive amount of flexibility to fight how they want, and to look freaking awesome whilst doing it! :D "

Jagex has brought on many more group activities. It's a pain to be trying to type to your group while fighting and constantly having to hit enter just to type. Not everyone uses voice chat and a toggle on this would be nice. Off so you can fight and type normal and On so the keys cans be used for actions.
