You're not seriously comparing RS Classic to RS2, and RS2 to EOC?
Let me compare a horse and buggy to a 1984 Dodge Daytona Turbo.
Then compare that same Daytona to a Prius.
Your EOC might be heading in the direction you want. But it's not mine. I would play on a RS2 server, much like the RS classic one. When is the last time you made an update to the RS Classic server? Never. Same as RS2 server.
You create it, and tell anyone playing it, the same thing you told us for the RS Classic server. It's a dying game, but if you want to play on it, it'll be there, until it is no longer financially viable to keep it. But it's days of receiving updates are gone.
Now if you really think that RS2, in its Oct 2012 version, is really similar to RSC. well, nvm.
Put me in with the people that dislike EOC.
And no, it's not the same as old combat, *lick and attack. Have you seen my hitpoints lately? Have you seen the way they vary based on the armour I have on? Have you looked at how much Excalibur stinks now? I used to click the special, and it healed 40% of my health (40 of 99., then 400 of 990), now? nothing, we have to wield it for any benefit. Tell me again, how that is just like old combat.
My Aura of poison cure, used to heal me the amount of poison damage. I used it today to fight my vine. equipped it, and it automatically turned on. the vine poisoned me, the aura cured me, and instantly expired - what happened to my 40 minutes of protection, and extended heal time? And yes, on the
Regarding having EoC mechanics on separate servers, its not only technically unworkable, but also really undesirable. Think about it. We'd have to produce two sets of content with every update - one that works with the old, basic non-dynamic combat system, and one that can take advantage of all the new mechanics..... Within months, you'd see everyone migrating to where things are still alive and going forward - just as we saw with RuneScape 2 and RuneScape Classi
