just because you see people do it doesnt mean its allowed

You ever heard of something called the status quo ?

If the speed limit in a given zone on a given street is 40 miles per hour, but literally everyone - including the police - go through it at 55 miles per hour, is it still not allowed?

The amount of flagrant rulebreaking in this game is abhorrent - whether it's RS3 or OSRS - and the reason why it's so abhorrent is because
the rulebreakers are emboldened by the lack of moderation
!

You never did address my comment a few days back about player mods not being any use in the game when it comes to this. We know that Jagex Mods sure as hell can't be bothered to log into their game for any reason ever, so where does that leave us?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It leaves us at the mercy of the status quo.

im dyslexic, i dont word play, im very blunt in my wording what i say is what i mean.

yes action is taken against these people. as i have already posted in this thread

here ill post that quote again for you :)

(I can't begin to fix that quote format, but RS forum software isn't worth a mutli-page rant :p )

You're quoting people on social media who are only there to push information that nobody else can verify . Of course they're going to make their efforts sound good; you don't upset the Reddit mob, and better pacify it when they're angry :p

No I don't believe it, because I witnessed first-hand the lack-of moderation . Although botting in that screenshot case could easily just mean interacting with the game world and collecting resources; chat bots I'm sure have a lower priority, or aren't even on the map apparently.

I gave the easy logic to detect bots, because no real player is spamming like that. And if a real person is spamming like that, they are... spamming and should be moderated. Do you regularly associate with people that post Discord urls multiple times a minute, for good reason? And do these people repeat the same messages for hours on end? I'd be real curious to meet such a person who would be doing that for reasons not breaking any ToS :p

If Jagex would have just acted on one of the reports I did in a timely manner, I wouldn't be here questioning their whole moderation policy. This is still not an issue in other MMORPGs I've paid for and played.

(back around the bottom of page 2 and page 3 for anyone not aware of the context)

There's a bot at PC intermediate boat that's been there at least the past two days [REDACTED]. They're intentionally opening gates, and presumably botting to do it.

I reported for disruptive behavior twice in two days, and they're still in game, still being disruptive. Others in-game have also claimed to have reported this bot.

This isn't something I can put on an ignore list and ignore and this is legitimately disruptive as they're opening gates with tons of enemies behind them; someone get on this please.

As frustrating as you find this behaviour, naming the player or posting something akin to his/her name is not welcome here. For this reason, your post has been quoted and the inappropriate remarks removed.

Ok what the heck? This is as clown-like as the person is dressed in-game.

A player with the name [REDACTED] is sitting right next to the scoreboard in PC now . 3 days after reports and blatant disruptive behavior. They're literally in plain-sight!

Can nobody really do anything about this? I'm guessing this is beyond Pmods since they can only mute?

I'll go be loud about it on X I guess to multiple mods.

If you have information about a player that cannot be reported via the Report Abuse feature in-game, you may send an email to , to make CM aware of this player's conduct.

I appreciate that the conduct of some can and does leave a lot to be desired, but please refrain from posting about specific players in the forums in a negative light.

Where is that email listed at? I tried to find such a contact email and didn't see it on https://www.jagex.com/en-GB/contact-us

Ok so if a player in-game is actively being disruptive like they were, for multiple days, and in-game reporting clearly doesn't do anything... what is a paying player supposed to do exactly?

I get that Jagex is too big to care and they can outright ignore me, but it's (imo) worse a volunteer forum moderator would actively side with that incompetence instead of a player. Was the forum really made a better place by redacting that clearly disruptive player's in-game name? What was gained by those actions? I have hard video-proof of them if it's a question of accusation. Did you at least forward the name in-question to Jagex to investigate further before defending their behavior and instead telling me to go even further to report it as if I haven't been trying to the past few days ?

I get that it's a rule, but it's clearly discretionary. You can't claim I'm being anywhere near as-disruptive in a hidden forum section than that player was in-game.

Eh, Old School just sucks. I'm convinced Old School only exists as a business model because of RWTers and that there can only be limited moderation action taken against them as a result. I'm assuming Old School either straight-up doesn't have, or has a very limited anti-cheat team, and generally doesn't handle anything aside from macroing scenarios involving payment fraud. Basically the rest of ya'll (you know who you are and aren't, hopefully) make OSRS intolerable.

I'll just continue on and hopefully let future incidents roll-off my back.
