RSC has had resets in the past, specifically in regards to changes in the chat system. RSC didn't get server resets because it didn't get updates. Not because no one knew how. Jagex put forth the minimum level of effort in upkeeping RSC, refusing to ban bots, and refusing to fix this one particular bug that jeopardized the market for dragonstones.

Of course they didnt do any updates, but not because they didnt choose to.

It was because they said at one point that if ppl wanted to continue playing they could, but jagex were going to stop making any updates.
Your reply has minimal, if any, relevance to my post.

The point is Jagex was capable of providing server resets. They chose not to. This is evidenced by server resets on RSC when the chat had to be updated. Updates requires server resets. But server resets do not require updates. Server resets would fix both the crystal chest and interrupt bots.

^ do u really think an rs server is one computer sitting in the corner?

I think maybe 1 rs server could consist of 100 computers. One for chat, one for high scores, one for quest, idk... One for head slots... One for weapons... Four for graphics... 8 for the map...

Idk... Maybe it's one computer, but I doubt it.

I don't think a server reset is a simple press of a reset button.

Also, I think maybe even once all 100 computers are closed down and reset, they might take some time to get them back online.

Maybe during an update there is 70 jmods running around like madmen for 2hrs prior to reset, and 2hrs after reset....

I think if OP had 100 computers and all the software etc. He might not be able to reset the server at all ever, unless he thinks he can do the job of 70 well trained professionals.

Do u remember how long RSC was actually offline during an update? Way way way longer than nowadays.
Skillet? Skill no.

So much moot.

I.. I don’t even know how to reply to this.

Pretty much everything you typed is untrue.

When a friend of mine worked at Jagex, I could message him while he was at work and he’d run over and restart the server on break.

It’s a server running a 18 year old game. What the heck are you even rambling about? Lol

Same could be said here.

Yes i know they could do this, but just because the server resets doesnt mean that magically fixes bugs.

They have to do that themselves and hardly no one knew any of the code to fix any bugs.

To be honest it's been pretty clear for awhile that Jagex as a company is profit driven and has a goal to maximize profits at the expense of its player base. Hey, it works! We're all here having this discussion. My honest and genuine advice to you is to quit playing the game - this is a trend that'll continue. You might wonder, why is Forum Tyler here? You've caught me on a visit, I haven't played the game in years, but enjoy checking back every year or so because childhood memories :) Retired from RS3. Trying out OSRS. To any of my old friends - I hope you are doing well :) . Aliases: Woollyhats, Forum Tyler, Pal54

@Draco

No baiting people to post back.

If they wish to bump and say it's a good thread then let them. If you have issues with it you can ignore it and move on.

Post removed.

Also 1 post removed for quoting it. Sorry UrekMazino for removing your post. You quoted something I had to remove. No hard feelings ok. ;)
