Just giving a bump because this is an important thread for people to see

Thank you for the bump and support, Yoda.

I have many hopes that someday our game leaders will open their eyes once again to the importance of keeping the games history alive - even if there’s a single original player that still enjoys it.

The point is Jagex was capable of providing server resets. They chose not to. This is evidenced by server resets on RSC when the chat had to be updated. Updates requires server resets. But server resets do not require updates. Server resets would fix both the crystal chest and interrupt bots.

Yes i know they could do this, but just because the server resets doesnt mean that magically fixes bugs.

They have to do that themselves and hardly no one knew any of the code to fix any bugs.

Resetting the server would temporarily resolve the crystal chest problem.

That said, it's not like fixing the bug was some herculean task, either. It was neglected, and it was neglected by choice.
Don't forget – RuneScape members get TWO free spins a day instead of the usual one!

Quite a small bug, really. It’s the only one Draco’s heard about, so it’s the only way he can try to justify Jagexs’ actions.

There are plenty of qualified people, even Runescape Classic players, that knew the code and would have gladly assisted in resolving the issue.

Simply delay logout until you’ve received your chest rewards and the bug would have been fixed :-)

My time was early RS2 unfortunately so i wasnt able to experience the glory days of Classic. However, i was able to play and experience the game somewhat years later.
I cannot see an issue with reviving classic. It has been done before with Oldschool and although nothings certain, with dedication we can try.
As was said in a post pages in, look at what a Private RSC Server has achieved. There is dedicated players for the game, but it's been years of lack of support for the founder of what created the largest MMOPRG.
I think its going to take more than a forum post to raise awareness. If anyone remembers the repost of videos that circulated in a plea to bring back Oldschool.

In all, of course i'm in support for Classic.

Yet you clearly choose to forget that they have said multiple times that hardly no one knew the coding for rsc.

So how could it be fixed if no one knew how?

Pretty much everything you typed is untrue.

Sounds like your first post!
But enough of the cherry picking. The RSC servers were closed by Jagex, who own the property. Slandering Jagex isn't going to encourage them to bring back RSC.

The company that created the game couldn’t find someone to fix 17 year old code, but some dedicated players can rebuild the entire game, working backwards, to complete a near identical private server.

How do you not see that they were lying? Lol.
