Petitions like these are the invaluable feedback that will unfortunately be lost with the closure of the forums :(

Disheartening that the dev team did not end up responding to this.

I, Canada Grrl of Team Penguin and the Penguin Locations threads, ask for forums to not be closed down.


I think this decision was made without any consideration of the bigger picture or effects. Yes, the user base has shrunk, but the metrics do not tell the whole story. There are a lot more players using the forums than show logged in. The amount of interaction does not equal the amount using it's information. That is being discounted.

I believe that whatever small gains they believe they are making will not equal the great loss this removal will create. The reasoning given was weak.

Unless I missed it, they didnt even give us the courtesy of saying exactly when the forums will be closed (like all other updates). We are left to guess at what hour. IMO that just shows the lack of understanding and care they have towards this space.

Absolutely, their hearts are numb to this place...

How can they hail the forums as a place of "historical significance" when they're so eager to burn it? They don't even have the courtesy to give a few words of comfort for those of us endeared to this place, the only thing they've shown is the extent of their coldness and apathy

That speech about the historical significance was their few words of comfort; welcome to the reality. Jagex is a business owned by investors, they care about nothing else except your money, so if you tell them you're angry, yet keep giving them your money, they'll ignore what you said and simply take your money. Want to change that? Don't give them money until they listen to what you said.

Otherwise, this happens. Each and every single time.
