¸.,·° ' °›,¸.,·° A message regarding the closure of Forums: °·,.¸¸,›° ' °·,.¸

I, Elan Nirvana, regular of both Runescape 3 and Old School Runescape communities, ask Jagex to heavily reconsider their stance on the closure of the forums and think about whether third-party sources for communication, such as Discord and Reddit, are suitable replacements for a small and niche but dedicated community that has it's place here, given that we have still been around after all this time despite most checking in as guests and not as active users.

As stated previously by others before me, this is a request from someone who is wishing to appeal to Jagex's better side and to have a discussion in good faith regarding this situation, even if this must take place on the aforementioned third-party websites, as we collectively believe that taking measures to cut costs in order to raise a higher short-term profit will do more damage than they would ever foresee, given how time and time has shown again that it takes years to build up a good reputation but only a few bad decisions away from destroying all of that trust built up by some, who will then leave and likely never come back.

This, on it's own, will likely make little difference to Runescape's active player numbers, however if they are willing to sacrifice the forums alongside other major concerns that are not being addressed in relation to an ongoing sale of the company then it is only indicative of what is to come.

Regardless, I hope that the higher-ups of Jagex will come to their senses and reverse this decision but, if not, it's been good knowing you all people.

I do recognise that most players use other platforms, but the forums have always had advantages that other platforms do not. Even if there are few new posts now days, there is so much here to reference in such a well organised easy to find way, it still serves a useful purpose for those looking for guidance or to promote their RS communities.
I grudgingly accept that Jmods cannot stretch themselves far enough to also respond to players here when they're so occupied with multiple social media platforms. I do not understand though, why it can't just be handed over to the community to use as a resource to aid each other. Volunteer Fmods have been monitoring it for long enough and frankly on the whole doing a fantastic job. That could continue without the need for Jmods to oversee imo. Good bye forums. We will remember you with fondness!
