The forums should stay. I support anything that wants to keep them open. Not sure why they don't just keep them on. Surely it can't cost that much to maintain them? This is an official place to discuss the game, so it should always remain even if it's not widely used.

I don't think Jagex are reading the forums though, so any appeals won't be heard. It's a shame rather than trying to encourage people to use the forums, they've opted to just remove them entirely. .

I wish Jagex had updated the forums years ago to show the number of visitors to the forum, including the number of lurkers. I understand the hesitancy to post, because I was the same in late 2004/early 2005.

From what I have read recently, quite a few players enjoyed reading the forums, even if they did not participate.
