I, on behalf of the clan Queer, ask that Jagex keep the Forums open!
They remain the only way to communicate offline with folks who only have an RS account, are the backbone of finding clans that meet your niche, and hold so many years of history.

Also, the alternates are trusting rs communication to companies who are actively laying off their workforce like Discord.

Discord and other social media aren't an adequate substitute for the forums. Discord is better suited for live chatting, while Twitter is designed for short posts. The content and community on the forums simply isn't what you're going to get on other platforms. When I sought to get involved in the RS community, I went to the forums. Trolls aside, the forum regulars are generally nice and even the negative content seems less severe than how people get on other social media. I don't want to be forced to create an account for a site I don't want to interact with just so I can give my feedback on the game or talk to players I'm unlikely to meet in game. Doing that's just going to cut out a portion of players whose main community engagement is through the game and forums.

Jagex has made a number of decisions players warned were a bad idea and turned out poorly. Don't let this be another one. How to block a forum user

Jagex, if you go through with this madness, Ashe and I are two of the many veteran RuneScape players whose feedback you will lose.

Maybe that is what you want. It shouldn't be.
