I feel pity for you all. I highly doubt that they are going to keep the forums open based on this petition, no matter how many people sign it. They (EDIT: Petitions, that is) never work, and I highly doubt this will be an exception.

I agree but I've signed it anyway in the hopes that Jagex will see sense, that's what having hope over experience does for you.

I have been looking back at the wildy debacle where Jagex spent so many resources trying to please the pvpers and keep the wildy relevant. None of them worked until they gave us the option to opt out - upsetting a very few players but making the rest of us happy. That's what happens when you listen to the very vocal minority and ignore the silent majority.

I'm hoping that the powers that be at Jagex will also look back and see what issues they caused just because they had a lot of whiney players talking at them all the time. What they should have done back then is what they should do now, actually ask players what they want, not just what the current X/Reddit/Discord users want.

I, Photons of OSRS FB Moderator & Veteran Player, ask Jagex not to remove the forums.

Having third-party communications can harm the community both for RS3 and OSRS.

I, NootTactical of Red Panda Kingdom, support the ongoing support of the RuneScape Forum. The historical precedent and the RS-Account specific engagement for Jagex is a valuable platform for actual users of the site to address and discuss their concerns & recruitments.

Environments such as X, while incredibly useful for global engagement, may also draw the attention and opinions of those who aren't truly committed or involved with the Jagex platform. The RS Forums is niche to Jagex players themselves, and not subject to the influence of X-yielded motivations.

I understand the desire to consolidate attention amongst users of the internet who are interested in RuneScape, but this forum is for those who have an account here.

There is no practical reason to rid these forums (those who use it find it useful), and I stand with those who aim to preserve it.
