Oh I think its pretty clear lol. And entirely apt.
More like the team members who had it in the signatures weren't on at the time it was removed. We do sleep and have actual lives despite what some are led to believe.

Wait, what?
(j/k)
In all seriousness though, it will be interesting to see what the plans are moving forward here. I do understand is the concept of accountability and that if someone in a position of authority abuses said authority, whether intentionally or otherwise, it needs to be addressed and corrected
somehow
.
Similar to how a PMod in-game can be reported if they're acting inappropriately, there likely
should
be some feature on the forum to flag a forum-equivalent situation - but then again, it's not as easy for an FMod to pull some shadiness in a back corner of an isolated area on the forums as everything is out there in the open for more than just two people to see.
As far as it goes, and understanding that this is my own opinion and fully respecting anyone that doesn't agree with it, I don't think this is the same as letting the FMods out without supervision. I have faith in the FMod team to put integrity first and do what they believe is the right thing to do. I do not expect them to never fail or make a mistake as, as far as I'm aware, they're all human, but most of them have worked together long enough that you'd think they should be able to give each other a nudge if something is off or send it up through their channels for a higher-up look if one is needed.
Just to put myself in others' shoes for a second, I can admit that it is probably not the most ideal situation to rely on and just because I haven't had any experiences to be hesitant to rely on the idea of "self-auditing" methods doesn't necessarily mean that others having these experiences is invalid. Again, just my opinion there and I respect your view if you think I'm full of it - totally fine with that. I know you have your reasons.
TL;DR: I hope to see something come out of all of this that can come as close to an acceptable middle-ground as can be expected.

Didnt mean my comment as a criticism of FMods in any way. I just like the idea of the FMR link going literally nowhere. It might as well have been going nowhere for a long time now.
I definitely agree there needs to be a method to seek review of an FMod decision.
I am indifferent to the format--whether it's via email or even Forum Help (can different FMods review each other?)--but "self auditing" is inadequate.
I can think of at least one mistake I made as a community helper in which I misclicked on a thread. Fortunately, I caught the error myself and got it fixed. But I would want players to be able to seek review of moderation decisions

That's a great example of a "self audit" that didn't even require anyone else from the Community Helper or FMod team(s).
Anyhow, lots of ways it can be done and now it's just down to Jagex to let us know how it's gonna be. I've been around long enough to know that whatever the solution is, there's bound to be someone unhappy with it somewhere along the line, no matter how much I want to make myself believe there ought to be a happy medium of sorts.

Looks like FMR is no longer in Community Home...
Interesting - will there be an announcement about its replacement, or removal, and the processes going forward?
It's there. It's just hidden down the threads list.
As for an announcement, I don't think we should expect one. If the previous FMR wasn't being actively reviewed, I don't believe that a replacement was planned. I think it's just easier for them to completely hide it. The members of CM haven't posted on the Forums for a very long time. The process to move forward when it comes to FMR is uncertain.
