Our CM team is small, but we can facilitate our communities. It's less about the people power and more a reflection of how the resources we used to pump into this space have been repurposed for other places such as Discord and Reddit.
Please.
I was an FMod when CM had staff who were active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, operating multiple shifts, each of which was larger than the entirety of the current CM team... and that was BEFORE needing to deal with other social media as well!
The decline in responsiveness has nothing to do with 'repurposing', and everything to do with profit coming before genuine customer care.

We have an effective escalations process for priority concerns that goes on behind the scenes to ensure the forum remains safe and functional, it's only the surface level J-Mod moderation that's become less visible lately.
So ensuring that your volunteers are not abusing their positions is merely 'surface level' then? The fact that you encourage people to raise their concerns, and then ignore them for months at a time, is an 'effective' system, in your view?

To speak to some of the solutions suggested here (and elsewhere), I have read many of them and many of them do have their merits. Unfortunately there are also reasons we can't shift responsibility to Player Support or implement a ticket system (to touch on one such suggestion).
Then what about making it possible for CMods to deal with FMR, as also suggested here, which would have the same outcomes - less work for you, more belief that Jagex actually cares about players?
~~~~ Just another victim of the ambient morality ~~~~
Forum Moderation Review is done different then many of you are accustomed to as it is given a better purpose that prevent it from having continuous discussions as being in a loop.
It is very well noticeable for the trained eye but for players whom complain once and never more, action taken is done in silent mode, very effective and spot on.
Again, please stop trying to make this about me.
If you can't avoid ad hominem attacks, please don't post at all.
Thank you.
Put simply I typically invest anywhere between 15-30 minutes investigating each report, reading threads and liaising with the F-Mods to gain perspective and understanding. There's currently over 10 pages of outstanding concerns, with 10 posts per page. I make that roughly a full 5 day work week of solid forum work just to catch up, assuming I neglect every other duty I'm expected to perform as part of my job.
I simply can't justify that time spend right now, when we're focusing on our 20th anniversary, the Elder God Wars, mobile and Steam launches as well as many more things that are being done behind the scenes. I'd like to clarify that I would like to spend that time, but I'm in a position where I need to invest my availability carefully to try and have the biggest impact, and unfortunately that means this is the only solution that works, for the time being.
As has been said, I encourage anyone who feels they've been left out or ignored to re-raise their concerns in the new thread.
Nice of you to finally weigh in here.
Did it ever occur to you to consider that maybe you shouldn't be the only one handling FMR?
I mean, it sounds a bit like a McDonalds where there's literally only one person running the entire fricking restaurant where people wait in drive-thru for three ours for their Big Macs.
Maybe I'm wrong here, but I take her post to mean that she's going to review only some of the reports from the "old" thread, meaning the rest of them just get...ignored and forgotten?
I mean to be honest, I know I've posted on FMR in the last 5 months, but I don't even remember what that was for lol, and I doubt anyone else is going to remember by now. So I personally don't see that as a big issue now.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.
Ah, so you endorse the "ignore the complaints and they'll go away" mentality, then.
Yep, I flushed when I saw my name next to 'has already been sorted' - whaaat? I don't ever recall using FMR. Other than of course mistaking it for FH a couple of times.
Life is like a camera: Just
focus
on what's important,
capture
the good times,
develop
from the negatives, and if things don't work out,
take another shot
Nice.
No, I don't "endorse" it. I'm just saying it's been so long most people won't even remember what it was for, or care anymore. Of course a response would've been beneficial
very shortly after posting on there
, but it hasn't happened.
Well the answers given to me on both occasions are helpful thus knowing what I need to work on. Even the Login-Logout issue has pretty much left enough memory in storage inside my mind to know what it is about. Thanks for the answers Mod Kari/Community Management Team.
I know what I last posted about and which thread it was. However I can't remember exactly which posts that were hidden are now visible. If indeed they have even been changed.
