Ive ran into 'to many login attempts' ONCE again last night its now been 8hours since I last tried to log in and I still receive the error.
its NOT the to many logins from this IP error as I cannot login still via mobile data, a local wifi connection or my home connection with this error.
No support from Jagex they just go, meh sorry.

Hi,

To be clear, the "error" you are seeing itself, is not a bug. It is a part of our systems that is aimed at protecting itself. Legitimate players seeing it could be considered a bug, and we are aware of some players being affected.

To correct a comment from above, the companies sale has had no impact on this message or the impact on players.

Edit: Since this keeps getting posted, I didn't want to edit this message and clarified later in this thread. However since it keeps being posted elsewhere without context.

There is obviously an issue with players experiencing "too many login" error messages when they shouldn't.
We continue to see this as an important priority.
My above comment was saying, "The system is not doing something silly like blocking people who have A in their username"
It is an important part of our security setup, a part of it. So its not something that is so simple to switch off.
We remain committed to resolving this.

It is a constant adjustment and something we are spending a considerable amount of time trying to make better properly.

That said, there is nothing to "fix". The system is working as intended and while frustrating for the small group of users who do see themselves blocked, the vast majority do not experience this.

As this is a security feature, there isn't much I can or am willing to say. Only that we're aware.

Is just that its a blast from the past. Its a long time since I have heard that one.
An even longer time since I used it in anger.

I have been having this same issue for going on 8 hours.
I have rebooted my router,tried mobile RS, changed my password. Seems odd that i can log on to the main page of Runescape and access my account info & not get a to many log in attempt message. I also tried to log into EOC, because I mainly play Old School - same error message there too.
I do not think it is an unreasonable request to expect this to be fixed in a timely manner.

8 hours to me- is NOT timely. If this is a "security feature" it should work for all players all the time not block those that are unfortunate enough to run across this "bug"
