Why are permanent bans on the forums not actually permanent? I have seen a number of people get permed over the years and they all return on alt accounts.

Ban evasion is already sufficient cause for another forum account ban, if deemed necessary.

This whole thread is therefore superfluous.
Yeah that's why people who are known alts get banned on sight right? /s
You used to be an f mod you should know that just doesn't happen.

Yes I did, and I know it does happen - albeit not as often as I personally would like.

In some instances yes it's obvious to blind martians that an alt is the same person back to continue where they left off. In those cases they are just as quickly tossed in the time out chair. However reviews and oversight need to happen. After all one could reckon incorrectly and start doling out punishments truly to the innocent by accident.

So we try and keep the forums as clean as possible. Y'all are correct in the fact some seem to take longer than others to be gone for good. It can be annoying going just pull the trigger already do they really need another slap on the wrist.

Others have a tendency of causing a ruckus and toe the line causing mischief and mayhem wherever they go. Then disappear for months letting everything quiet down then do a resurgence again walking the tightrope.

With the more relaxed rules and atmosphere it becomes even harder to honestly go your breaking x rule and getting rid of them. Cause what was against the rules 4 years ago, 3 years ago, 1 year ago, 4 months ago, may be legitimately legal now, giving them even more space to be disruptive. But that's what "we" wanted wasn't it a less restrictive forums. Less strict often means more pains in the tail running amok.

Yeah I understand that it would need to be a well thought out decision/conclusion to just "pull the trigger" as you put it. You say they are quickly timed out but it usually takes several warnings for that to happen and it only counts as one strike.

I mean, if they leave and return to cause trouble during special times of the year what I'm proposing can still apply to them. The f mod team is static so you guys should know every regular and remember the bad apples.

The only thing that has changed is that Off Topic is now World Politics and we can cuss so long as it isn't targeted at an individual. As for the other rules it's hardly changed lol.

Yep i love how ppl asked for a more relaxed forum yet here we are wondering why ppl dont get banned.
If people are somehow managing to be a nuisance despite the relaxed rules on the forums shouldn't that be concerning?

I don't want strict forums I just want stricter policies on repeat offenders who literally make alts to cause trouble.
