I've hidden two posts above, one for questioning moderation decisions, and one for discussing another player personally.
If this thread is to continue on, please leave the discussing of specific players out of this, and just discuss the overarching topic at hand.
And as always, if you disagree with any moderation decisions, please go through the correct channels and submit your concerns to FMR, and do not air those grievances - whether regarding moderation, OR other players - in this thread, please and thanks!
I think this thread could be a very useful discussion, so let's please not try and derail it.

I'm kind of iffy on permanent bans meaning permanent removal from the forums on sight. Over the past couple of years, I've known several people who returned to the forums on an alt after being permed on their main, and the overwhelming majority of them, I'd say around 90% of them, are far from a serious detriment to the forums.
...
But there are a select minority, who behave extremely disruptively, whose alts are banned extremely frequently. I think it's fine for the CM JMods to designate them a
Community Safety Concern
and undertake drastic measures to prevent their return to the forums
.
Ive got to agree with Southeaster here.
"Permanently banned players returning on alts" are by no means all the same, and most don't cause any issues.
However, there are some that seem to be motivated by malice and others who are highly disruptive. Neither type really contribute anything other than drama and tedium for the mods from what I can see.
Maybe there is some room to take stronger action against such forumers. I cant see how anything of value would be lost. Quite the opposite.
I suppose the downside is how to decide and the precedents such a change might give rise to.
From my point of view, the problem is a very clear one. Its obvious to the point where naming names would be superfluous.
I mean - lets not kid ourselves here.
Everyone reading this knows how this thread is going to progress.
Who is going to accuse who of what.
Its as predictable as it is pointless.
Will the mods manage to stop it being completely derailed?
Rhetorical question.
The real question is - why are they going to have to do this exact same thing, AGAIN?

I am not sure what all the fuss is. I haven't noticed to much disruption on the forums since before lock-down, I may miss bits and pieces, I still feel these days the forums on a whole are quite peaceful.

Why are permanent bans on the forums not actually permanent? I have seen a number of people get permed over the years and they all return on alt accounts.
I believe this is because Jagex is a private entity. They don't have a watch dog group overseeing their handling of forum bans like the Runescape or OSRS subreddits, the company's YT or Twitch channels etc.
Take for an example of other social media where Jagex and its games participated in, there are always the main Youtube, Twitch or Reddit to keep Jagex abide to those platform's rules and make sure their assigned mods can't turn a blind eye or risk a painful slapping.
However, Jagex only follows their internal rules they can bend at will. So by their own judgement even the same person keep breaking rules and creating more new alts to break the same rules again and again, they have no obligations to permanent ban all the alts. Rest assured though, this will change in the coming year or two when UKIE and a government designated video game watchdog site will take over the monitoring of all video games and social media. We just have to wait a while. Eventually, I believe the few really bad apples who keep creating alts to disrupt the forums will have no place in the forums.
The recent ban on politics is just evidence that the system on bans needs to change. Had we done this sooner maybe political discussion wouldn’t have got banned.
