This is the start. This is long overdue but it is a start.

hussshhhh

just be glad it is here. and it is a huge step plsssss

Krista I think you know more than anyone what this means to me lol.

I'm aware that this was most likely going to happen regardless of the effort put in by everyone at RS Forumers, but still. I was starting to think in dark times that this place really was a forgotten building.

It would be nice to not have the "select to reveal" in certain instances, such as game guide threads and allow threads to have nice banners. :)

Although I agree, I also don't have a solution for how to handle it without risks. If there is a way to ensure the image shows on load, someone is going to abuse it in at least one way.
Literally all forums on the internet allow instant images. Don't see why we still have to treat the RSOF like we're babies. Even if they don't show instantly, people are gonna click to reveal and see the "offensive" image, so it wouldn't really change much.

What does this mean for the forum censor and moderation? It seems the censor has been removed entirely? Judging by some words I've seen around the forums.

Will general swearing result in a post hide or will that happen only if the language is targeted at another player?

The images don't even begin to download on your end until you've clicked it. As such, it's not like some kind of censor, but acts as a way to save bandwidth for those on limited data or low speed devices.

Nothing worse than going through 250MB of your monthly data because some noob decided to spam a thread with lots of large images.

Here's why:

I did make a report. If that kind of language is considered okay now, then my interest in the forums just dropped dramatically. O_o

You should consider making profanity an option on the forums like it is in game. Don't take away our right to choose whether naughty words are shown. It's an option in game. Stay consistent and make it an option on the forums as well. Some of your players would rather not be exposed to such vulgar words. Please make it so that *everyone* can enjoy the forums - not just those who are okay with seeing profanity.

Support a censor toggle as well.

Yeah but you can revisit a page and choose to NOT click any image again. Also, you can quote the offensive image in an attempt to warn others.
And I swear I'm not going to let her know all the pain I have known

And yeah this. Facebook was rough enough to go through before I learned the option to turn all autoplay features off.
