I always use dextrous because it's easier to mass buy shortbows than whips, schimitars, or defenders. Haven't noticed any major difference but I also haven't made that many mobile combos.

Separately if I just hit 120 mining and don't care for 200m would any perks besides Wise 3 be worth using with Honed 5 if my pick will be used exclusively for (crystal) sandstone? Would take furnace 3 off since I intend to use the flasks and don;t care for xp now.

I'd say maybe go for Refined 2 to slow resource depletion. But only if it works on crystal sandstone though - wiki would suggest it doesn't. Prosper would be a good option if you want a chance of getting clue scrolls from it.

Sadly Refined 3 doesn't work for sandstone even though the resourceful aura does. Wonder why they don't share the same table like how genocidal/slayer helm, undead slayer/salve amulet, dragon slayer/dragonbane ammo, or demon slayer/darklight share the same tables for their effects.

I agree that tinker and pyromaniac should take priority over it for firemaking if you're low on time/resources. But of course, I went the batshit insane route and comboed all three of them to prove it was possible.
