AND THE THREE WINNERS ARE:
Q. I noticed that in Betrayal at Falador, never once does it swear, and yet characters die all the time. What content do you think is mature for readers and what do you think is not mature for them? Cavmo
A. Cavmo, I think this question deserves the winning query for the evening. I have very deliberately steered clear of putting in any swear words in the novel not so much for being a prude, but the fact that the novel is to appeal to a wide range of readership age groups. Where there might be need for a swearword, then often I have, like the violence, left it for the reader to 'fill in'. (E.g. Theodore cursed etc). It's a very simple point, but one I feel I need to explain to people who expect them.
Q. What are horses? Runic Dream
A. Ha ha! Horses were added to fill in the gap for scale theory. It was my own input and one I think works for the novels though it is, of course, different from the game. It is something I stand by though as I think the addition is needed.
Q. 1) When Jagex modified your work to make it fit the canon, did this result in you learning anything about the lores? To clarify, I do not necessarily mean things that are not publicly known, but was there any lore knowledge you gained from this experience that you had previously had no idea about? Kitty Phantom.
A. Hi Kitty. I do recall your question in the previous Q and A thank you. However you present question is quite right, I have submitted a recent plan for book 3 and the ensuing feedback has indeed pointed out a few areas which have since been adapted into the book (including future updates).
RuneScape will be in touch to email you with regard to sending your email addresses.
I am also aware that there are a great number of questions that I have been unable to answer here tonight. However, for those interested, I will try and go through a few more on my website in my own time.
Have a great evening.
Regards.
TOM.
