Q: Anyway, my question, how many RuneScape themed books do you plan to release, if you have a number at all that is. Will the stories connect in any way or will they be completely different from each other. (Kyle Watson)
A: RuneScape has a vast history. The current aim is to give readers a tour of the main RuneScape locations, so that if they had never played the game before they could start and understand why it was the way things are. So Kandarin is the only main nation of the game to be left out so far. These books are joined up via their main characters. Once this is complete, it would be great to go back and examine other eras of RuneScape's history.

Hi guys,

This is the thread for Mr Church's answers whereas the thread for questions is over there *points to question thread*

I'm sure Tom will answer the questions that are already on this thread but it would be wonderful if you could keep further questions to the thread called "question thread" so we don't all get massively confused or something. ;)

Thank you!

Paul M

Q: (Tasogaryn, Raindove)
1. What's your history as an author? Have you been published before, or is this a new gig, of sorts?
A: I've been writing since I was 18, but Betrayal is the first novel that I have ever published. I do have a shelf full of previous work, which, though unpublished, is never wasted.
2. Sort of a follow-up to the first question -- if you HAVE been published in the past, was your audience then similar or dissimilar to the one you've got now? Have you had to tone things down, or ramp things up? After all, Runescape is a game for ages +13.
A: Interesting one this. The books have to appeal to a wide age range. Therefore it can't be too tame, but they can't be too gory either. My approach is to leave a lot of the detail to the reader's imagination.
6. Any advice for, perhaps, an aspiring writer who can't seem to (a) finish her ideas/get them down on paper, or (b) doesn't know where to start to get published?
A: Make writing a hobby. Don't go into thinking you can retire at 30 with a million in the bank. Make it a hobby and writing becomes its own reward, and you will carry on doing it as you like it, and hopefully you will become experienced enough to be published. Also, see my answer to Warrior Rim, above.

Q: Have you faced blocks while writing those books or just directly u got the spark of your next word? (Don Whip)
A: A good plan before you start to write should minimise this. It also helps to change a character POV if you find things are becoming too repetitious with one character. So no, thankfully I haven't suffered writer's block so far.
