Q: 3. Will the content try to remain inside the "f2p" setting? or will we see Kara and Theo perhaps using barrows armor and dragon weapons soon? (Dark X Nick)
A: Return to Canifis sees the heroes venture into Morytania, a members area. As the series goes on they will be exposed to better weapons and armour - though it's important to ensure the characters don't become 'too magicked up!' or else they will become hard to understand from a reader's viewpoint. Characters first, gadgets second!

Q: 4. If by chance, your first book did not get published, would you have continued writing? (Auchrain)
A: My first book wasn't published. Neither was my second. I made the mistake of not attempting to re-write a draft version on those books, and so they weren't taken up by agencies. However, none of that work was wasted. It all goes to your experience - write as a hobby and you can overcome the setbacks.

Q: 2.Have you figured out a title to this book's sequel? (Winter Cobra)
A: A very prescient question! I have been exchanging emails on Friday about this with a number of ideas. Still no answer as yet but a few forerunners. Who knows, we might have to have a competition about it?

Q: 2)Do you have a routine that you follow while writing? (such as writing in a specific location or listening to music)
A: Yes. I tend to listen to instrumental / classic music in the background, and curiously I leave a tune I like on repeat and have it playing over and over again as I work. I find this helps me concentrate better.

Q: Which part is your favorite in Return to Canifis? (Sir Knights)
A: The character tension between the heroes is one of my favourites. These characters were thrown together six months before in Betrayal, in highly stressful circumstances. Now they are meeting up again in a place which should be less dangerous, more relaxed for them to get to know each other. In a sense, it could be regarded as the first time many of them meet, as they are not fighting for their lives (at first!) The Gar'rth, Theodore and Kara tension is also quite effective I think.

Q: 1) Do you follow the layout of the map of RuneScape when writing your books? This must be quite and undertaking considering the popularity of RuneScape. 2) Have you found writing about RuneScape to be difficult or pleasurable? And could you elaborate on either? (Blue Shroom)
A: Hi Blue - thanks for the question! I do follow the geography of RS when writing the books. It's important that the players feel involved in the locations and hence the tale, so although I do add the odd location in, its usually developed in sympathy with the surrounding locations. In answer to your second question: it has been a pleasurable experience so far - though last Summer was hard work.

Q: 2. Is this a follow up to betrayal? 3. Are there as many chapters in this book as betrayal? (Chrishasic)
A: This is a direct follow up to Betrayal. And there aren't as many chapters in Return as there were in book 1 - this is because the characters POV are far more focused - there are less of them than in book 1. Still, each chapter is usually divided into paragraphs to help for readability.

Q; I am pretty sure you have already collected ideas for the next book, but since this year has been announced by Jagex to be the year of clans, have you given a thought about using this theme in the next book? (Dimitrix)
A: There are no plans to put Clans in the book as these are player-run areas that would make a novel hard to pull off. It's an interesting thought though....
