personally i think this will not affect the lag too much (for those wh think it will)
also what should be there is that only accounts of age 13+ should be able to use mic options and even then have a new report system in which you can hear what people are going to say,also im not sure how many other people did this but i added a thread on the fourums, if my thread was the reason for mics on rs thank you all who commented and also thank you j-mods for tanking the time to look at the thread :) :) :) :) :) :)

Hello Ive used voice chat for years and it's helped me a lot especially with my clan we use voice chat to talk to each other when we go to boss's and when we train skills and as well to communicate while doing quest's
I think in my opinion that this would make the game 110% better~ LR -

I Agree to Having voice communications.
Just make sure you add a Mute Button. so if someone is yelling or something.

I don't currently use voice chat, but only because I don't want to have to use a separate program, and because I don't currently have a use for it. (I tend to play alone.)
I would, however, welcome a voice chat service incorporated directly into RuneScape. Given my current real-life financial situation, though, I wouldn't be too fond of having to pay for it. (Paying for membership when I can manage is quite enough.) The Ghostly Witch King

Although, how such a "good idea" it is-- you aren't considering all your players. What about the players that aren't fortunate enough with the hi-speed internet to actually listen/talk to other players?
Even when opening a new window to go to your homepage, or to facebook, it lags RuneScape a bit. A constant stream of sounds from around the world would demolish RuneScape for dial-up users. Making training/skilling a living hell!
If this is implemented into the game, at least give us a choice to turn it off COMPLETELY so we do not have to stream the sounds constantly.

Honestly, the last thing I need is little kids screaming about "SELING FULL ROONE!!1" over my speakers.

...And *paying* for it is just ridiculous.

ok reading some peoples opinions on voice chat (which they are against it) they say that it would make parents concerned. Why not put an available mute button on voice chat? Which would mute everyone until you want it heard. Also, who cares about people being immature? They are who they are. We can't help that. Voice Chat would be an easier way for people to communicate. I hate the text chat system on these type of games when im trying to pvp or kill something. Its annoying.
So please look at the good side of this and just give us voice chat. Today!
