*A small envelope would be left at the entrance to the Chapter's base, in plain view. On picking up and opening it, a letter, written in unfamiliar, refined, flowing script would be revealed*

"To the Lieutenant in charge of the Myreque chapter operating from the swamps of Mort Myre and to a lesser extent, Burgh de Rott,

You are undoubtedly aware that the three predominant Vampyre Clans in Morytania, the Skalovs, the For-yx, and the Draculea don't exactly hold you and your men in good stead. I have come to believe that one of them plans to attampt to 'unite' these lands again in the near future. My name is unimportant at this time, but know that you will receive a sole visitor at your base in a few days. Do not be alarmed, he--and I--mean you no ill will. Do not attack this man, or you will lose a most valuable ally in the days to come. The man will be hooded and cloaked, but should you ask, he will reveal himself. This is for his protection, not your confusion. I hope to hear good things from you and him soon.
Deepest Regards,
A Friend "

"Okay Boss. What next?" - Two Blonde Haired Elves responded.
Would you like to contribute to the water cycle?

Both letters are taken in and read over multiple times. The longer one's message is more apparent to the occupants, however the simple, tear-stained letter's meaning is lost on them. Still, they pass along what they've found to their superiors.

It has been months since I've cared to write anything down. Back in Wintumber I saw a curious gathering of beings that caused me concern. A storm was brewing on the horizon, and I knew that innocent people would be caught right in the middle. It was then that I decided to enact a plan that I started thinking of nearly a year ago. I had to cash in a lot of favors, but it was done...

And the storm never came to pass. It fizzled out like most other developments in Morytania, and everything went back to its stagnant normalcy. All of my precautions were wasted. I had used up valuable resources for nothing. The lengths I went through left me in a very precarious position; I could no longer stay at any sensitive location for very long. I had a target on my back. I couldn't risk endangering any of the Myreque or their assets, so I had to disappear without a trace...

So I vanished. I left my gear at Vertida's location and spent the next months in the slums of Meiyerditch. The nagging fear of what I had resorted to chipped away at my sanity until I finally found a way to cope: liquor. Using my connections, I was able to get a bottle or two away from official shipments. It was enough to get me by very well. I swear, the Watch stopped tithing me because they became sick after drinking my blood. Shoddy sods deserved it.

However, as the days rolled by, nothing ever came for me. Eventually, I had nearly forgotten that I was a liability.... until the past caught up with me.

Maria, the headstrong smith, had dragged herself back into Morytania looking for me. Not taking no for an answer, she eventually found her way to me. I was drunk in an alley when she showed up and began knocking some sense into me. Despite my best efforts, she managed to haul me to the Meiyerditch base just in time for me to have my ears yelled off by Vertida. I knew it was coming, but it was much sooner than I had hoped. He and Veliaf were understandably sick of my risky tactics, but when I told him my reason for disappearing... he immediately stripped me of my rank and blacklisted me from all Myreque sites.

I wasn't surprised in the least. I packed up my gear and left with Maria in tow. She was a persistent one, insisting to follow me around and get everything back in order despite what Vertida said. When we stopped to rest for the night at a bunkhouse in the slums, I skipped town without her and didn't look back.

I wandered the swamps, meandering all over to lose any hard-headed trackers. And for a while, it was good. The liquor flowed much more freely outside of Meiyerditch, and nobody seemed to hunt me down. Eventually, I settled down near Viggora's Folly at a campsite built by a western businessman, Markus. He and I struck a deal. He was a zealous man. I was a skilled killer. He agreed to pay me to kill all sorts of nasties inside the looming tower, and it was a good time.

Until I was found. Again.

Maria was not happy that I left her back in Meiyerditch weeks prior. She was fuming, really. And I really, really didn't want to deal with her. I humored her for a while, letting her stay close and pretending to help her rebuild... but I knew it was far too risky to become integral like I had been before. So once the opportunity presented itself, I disappeared from her again. This time, I headed back south toward Burgh de Rott.

It was there that I encountered my next headache. Well, headache is the wrong term. Pain in the ass is more literal. When I approached the gates, I saw two figures that had recently entered town. I tested one by tossing a pebble to see if they dodged it, but when it plinked against her I knew they were not vampyres. That's when they turned to face me, and I recognized them. Kivan and Sani, two of my former associates. Once again, I had to flee.

Unfortunately, they had already seen me by the time I moved. They went to cut me off, but I was able to avoid them... until the female blighter shot me right in the ass with a crossbow. I fell right off of a first story floor and landed in the mud next to the gate. I hardly remember the following days due to the pain, but I know someone used magicks to heal me. When I was back in my right state of mind, Kivan and Sani revealed why they had returned to Morytania.

They were looking for me. Damnit.

Kivan wanted a cure. I kept this a secret from my previous entries, but Kivan had a particular illness that required a good bit of care to be taken. I had proposed a way to cure him back when the New Mort Myre Order was still strong, but he refused at that time.

The time had finally come, and Kivan was serious about it. Despite still being a bit miffed about how they handled catching me, I agreed to help them. I sent them off to gain the blood of one of the Afflicted that wandered Mort'ton. I will spare the details of the ritual we performed to infect him, but I assure you it worked. A bit too well, I must admit. I also began showing symptoms of the Affliction shortly after Kivan. My race to make the cure had a very strict time limit, and I was unfortunate enough to hit a few snags.

Seven months ago, I was gifted a small clay tablet imbued with a teleport spell to Misthalin's capital, Varrock. When I collapsed in the Mort Myre, I used it to bring myself to the crowded capital. I was found and transported to a Saradominist church that cared for me for a few days while I slipped further into the disease. Vie, who had been passing through Varrock and heard rumors of a man with a silver sickle being held at a church, came to see if the rumors had merit.

Through all the willpower I could muster, I was able to teach her the recipe for the temporary cure. When she administered it to me, I was nearly instantly relieved of all symptoms. I had only a few days to act before they took hold again. I gathered what supplies I could in Varrock and trekked back through Morytania to Mort'ton.

That dead town was rumored to hold the secret to a permanent cure for the Affliction. The many mercenaries that passed through all claimed that the flames of the ruined temple were the key. By the time I convinced enough wandering soldiers of fortune to aid me, I was already wracked by the symptoms again. Through extreme effort, we were able to raise the temple long enough for one of them to bless the serum I had prepared. Another administered it to me, and I was immediately freed of the Affliction.

I took the cure and trekked back to the Grotto, where Kivan was chained up to keep him, and everyone else, safe. When I arrived, he was in a bad state. Vie had taken over Sani's watch, and that's when I noticed that she had lost an arm. Fortunately, Kivan was not the cause. I administered the cure and Kivan was reverted back to his old self, with a few... quirks. The results were satisfactory, at least in my eyes. That night, I stole away and took up residence back at Viggora's Folly with Markus. After that ordeal, I simply wanted to be left alone.

Fortune, however, saw it fit to deny me my wish. It was not long after that former and current Myreque members began frequenting me for this or that. Eventually, despite my best efforts, I inadvertently helped enough of them to get back on Veliaf's good side. One recruit showed up with a large dossier full of orders. He saw it fit since I was so keen on helping, I was now some sort of wandering, vanguard taskmaster. He reinstated some of my authority and instructed me to hand out the orders in the dossier to any recruits I could.

Just bloody wonderful.
