And since then, I haven't had more than a day's worth of solitude. Any recruit that has downtime immediately comes to me for extra orders. Mostly it is mundane drivel like collecting extra firewood or snail meat. Sometimes it is picking up deliveries from other human settlements. Every now and then there is a big order that is delivered to me that needs immediate attention. All I know is that all of this is far more troublesome than it's worth to me... or so I keep saying. I'm still here for some reason, doling out these asinine orders.

It was Kivan and a new recruit, Elzabeth, that got the first big order. Investigate the disappearance of a mercenary near Canifis who had orders to investigate a new trader in the area. Simple enough, right? Well, the trader sold Kivan some tattered, fancy pants that he brought back to me. We guessed belonged to the mercenary and I sent him back to continue the mission. However, the thoughtless sod immediately burst into the tavern and they slew the trader out in the open. From what I gathered from their reports, they were chased out of town after Kivan sustained a rather grievous injury to his arm. Now the both of them jump at their shadows.

After three days of not hearing from either of them, I searched around and eventually found Kivan recuperating in Paterdomus. I was tough on him when I got his report, however Vie came along to do that motherly thing she's always doing. The boy needs someone to be strict on him before he gets himself killed.

I wish it just ended there, but that would have been too merciful on me.

Another person knocked on the door to Paterdomus. The timing caused even myself to take a bit of precaution, however it was an Icyene that greeted us. The last Icyene I met left a bad taste in my mouth, so I was a bit less than courteous to the stranger. After some convincing, we escorted the Icyene into Morytania. I assigned Kivan to be her guide so that he could seek some form of redemption and make sure that she lays low. As of right now, I do not know if he has succeeded or failed. Time will tell. An Icyene in Morytania always causes a stir.

It was yesterday when Elzabeth came to Markus' camp and began giving me her report on the events in Canifis. That's when some werewolf came up to us and began speaking of some place called Taverly and being from the west. She pointed out that she came over via a rope not too far away on a cliff. Not wanting to hear the whole story, I had Elzabeth delay the wolf while I found, scaled, and cut the rope. The wolf must have been scared off, because Elzabeth was alone when she came to the cliff. I tasked her with watching over Markus' camp while I trekked through the Silvarea to Paterdomus and back to Morytania.

And that is where I currently am. For an entire day I have been wandering, freezing my ass off on this mountain pass. I can see a large boneyard in the distance. There is some movement out there... I do not trust it. Hopefully soon I will find my way back to Morytania. Those sods can't get about without me, despite my sincerest wishes...

I will keep this short. For the greater part of the last year I have lost my taste for documentation. I have had my position reinstated with the Myreque, due to some very happy circumstances.

I was given a gift. One that Veliaf and Vertida had only seen once before, and it was powerful enough to grant me their good graces. I still have no real command of my own, however those that were under my care still consider me their leader.

Business is also booming, here in the marshes. Some wolves and vampyres both want what we have, and are gladly willing to pay so they do not suffer retaliation. I enacted some tough restrictions on behalf of the Myreque, but both sides will prosper. They will get their services, and we will be getting money and supplies.

We have already gotten some glorious Wushanko stainless steel from one of these dealings. It will make a great armor reinforcement. I will have to see if I can graft some into my cuirass and greaves.

We have also recruited more members, most of which report to me despite Veliaf being the one in charge. I suspect he knows I have been overstepping my bounds, but I figure he is too busy to care.

A kid from Burgh de Rott assaulted me and one of my members while out on patrol, mistaking us for enemy combatants. After a thorough beating, he was ousted from the Burgh by the locals. I caught him on his way out and tasked him with surviving in the swamp. Should he live, he will join our ranks and earn his place back in the Burgh. He shows potential. Laid up one of my best with a single shot.

There is also another thing I have been taking part in... one that I enjoy thoroughly. However, I feel that it is not safe to divulge this information, even to a damn book. Should things go right, this will gain us more power and wealth than both my other dealings combined.

I haven't found that kid in the swamp for a week now. I was only going to leave him in there for a few days. He seemed competent enough. The myre has likely claimed him by now. I will no longer be looking for him.

We have another recruit trying to join our ranks, though. A young girl from the west. She's been dropping by the last few weeks, giving us supplies she has "acquired" while on her job. I had my reservations about her and her skills, but she proved she can at least best feral vampyres with ease. I will be keeping an eye on her while testing her capabilities further.

We have had some "special" guests in Burgh de Rott for the past while. Those pointy-eared hippies have cause me nothing but headaches. The male one is the worse of the two. His casual racism and idiotic demeanor have made life harder here.

After pushing his partner into the river east of the Burgh, the splashing and yelling brought the attention of a vyrewatch demanding to see our two guests. The male had run off after I roughed him up and we were not going to turn over the female.

Unfortunately, the vyrewatch got away while threatening to have tithes increased. I had to pull some strings with my contacts to stonewall his report. I will find the beast before he can make that report and I will silence him.

This week's shipment was gunpowder and more stainless steel. Both will prove invaluable to our goals. Now I just need someone who can make some nasty little surprises for those annoying bats.

Morale is shaky at best since the vyrewatch attack. I can tell from the sideways glances that even if they will not say it, the people here hold me accountable for letting the beast escape. I do not blame them. Finding that cowardly watch is my top priority. I will find it and I will make it suffer.

An old member of my former order came across me while I was watching over Luscion's Lost and Found shack. It was Maria, the same sod who dragged my sorry ass back out of Meiyerditch and got me back in this muck up to my eyeballs. She acted as if everything were just as it was, coming up with excuses when I questioned where she had been and why she had abandoned our fight after forcing me back into it. As punishment, I made her do menial chores around Burgh de Rott for a few days. Teodor loves making the recruits grab him buckets of water for his dirt patch.

I was in Aurel's store bartering for some snail meat when Maria approached me, fed up with her chores. While I was explaining to her why she needed discipline and was over-confident, the better half of our "guests" showed up. Bun informed me that Hat, the male, still has not returned since the incident at the river. Seeing this as a good chance for an exercise, I brought both of them along as we scouted up the river.

I found some tracks near the riverbank, but I could only make out the direction they were heading. Unfortunately when we searched near the Barrow's shanty a werewolf launched itself at us without a word of warning. Maria charged ahead despite not wearing much armor and clashed head on with the beast. I flanked the wolf, using my sickle to cripple it then attempted to execute it, but it disarmed me and threw my sickle into the river. Maria, despite sustaining serous injuries, managed to mortally wound the beast. However, it used its last bit of strength to try to take her down with it. I had no choice other than to use my wolfsbane dagger on it. I pierced its skull in a downward stab that stopped it before it could rip out Maria's throat. Bun did not join in the fight, instead opting to stay on the sidelines to study our tactics. I hope she noted mine more than Maria's.

I preformed field triage as best I could on Maria's injuries, a concussion and a torn-out arm. Bun opted to continue the search while I brought Maria back to Burgh de Rott for what little better treatment we could give her there. I made a quick attempt to find my sickle, but could not find it in all the muck. I regret killing that wolf quickly.

I brought Maria back to the Myreque base in Burgh de Rott and sanitized and bandaged her wounds as best I could. She was stubborn and ungrateful. I scolded her just as hard as I scolded Kivan when he botched the reconnaissance mission in Canifis. After she simmered down, I set her up a cot in the base. She is hardly in any condition to be climbing up a ladder.

I am sitting on the outside of the storeroom where Maria is set up. She snoring, so I know she's still alive, the stubborn sod. I worry for the girl, as much as I hate to admit it. She was one of my old crew. I hate to see her so arrogant and reckless. I hope I can beat some sense into her and get her to be more cautious. I trained her better than this, and I'll retrain her until one of us dies.

- Sylar was born on Mos Le'Harmless from two Burgh de Rott refugees.
- These various crafts include: rope-making, carpentry, trap-making, etc.
- In his teens, his family's financial situation took a dive. He took up smuggling- later piracy.
- Sylar's misfortune continued. His being a pirate distanced himself from his family.
- A few years ago Sylar fought against the Customs and Excise Office.
- Unfortunately, his ship sunk in battle. For weeks, he struggled to survive on wreckage.
- Injured and concussed, Sylar drifted along the Salve to Mort Myre.
- Two months later, Sylar struggles to survive with concussive memory loss. Who will find him?
