Mission:
Predators of the Myre
] †

The terrifying beasts that stalk the Myre, the so-called "Peat-mummies", are making travel to Paterdomus and Canifis almost impossible. Proteus believes he can figure out a way to get rid of them - but he needs a captive one first.

Head into the Mory Myre and try to find one of these skeletal monstrosities. Incapacitate it, then bring it to the Mort Myre Ridge mine - alive. At least, as alive as one of these things can be.

Requires: Heavy weaponry, multiple people

A wooden crate with an envelope stuck to the top of the lid would be delivered to Paterdomus. The contents of which were the blessed silver bars the Guild received earlier.

Misaldi Icau,

It is good to hear that even in the most godforsaken lands there are people fighting for what is right. The Guild of Heroes is honoured to have been contacted by the famous Myreque and will gladly hand over the blessed silver bars. Hopefully this will aid your fight against the vampyres.

I will send you another letter when I find the time to travel to your land and hopefully meet with you. Who knows, maybe there is something the Guild can do for the Myreque. In the meantime, as we talk through letters, let it be known that you and your people are always welcome guests of the Guild.

May Saradomin watch over you all,
Guildmaster Ezekiel Lemieux

Misaldi's Journal
Caistleday, 1st Septober

This damned stalemate's nearly at an end...and just as well, things have somehow gotten worse, and we need supplies desperately. I should start from the beginning, I suppose.

The two slivers of good news: We've made contact with the Meiyerditch resistance again, at long last, and we've got some fresh blood in the group. The outcast, a northern-type, had been pillaging a few of our traps but surviving quite well. In exchange for shelter and food, she'll fight for us - damn girl wields an axe that's at least as large as a grown man. The resistance in Meiyerditch, though, was more bittersweet than I'd hoped...

Three men, that's all that's left. One of them, Jason, headed to De'rott with the boat - damaged, at that. Seems like they got desperate, whatwith Burgh' going quiet and supplies not coming in, not to mention us losing the second boat.

Naturally, good luck's balanced with a giant heaping of bad luck in return. Me and Proteus set out for the location of the lab he saw vampyric abominations in...but the place was already cleared out. Either they were already in the process of packing up or someone tipped them off, but the place was clear, except for a couple of prisoners. One was a family friend of Proteus's or somesuch, and the other was...something...else. The one who knew Proteus headed off west ASAP, while the other...seemed intent on following us back to De'rott. I've sent it to live in the mines for now, it can chitter away in peace without unsettling the townsfolk.

Throughout all this, Proteus mentioned a little detail - a high-priority target of his "friends" had been let off the hook - a vampyric doctor, experimentor, one responsible for horrific, half-human beings that I had the misfortune to see a year ago. The ones that cut down the Myreque back in the days of the Enforcer-General. They still shape my dreams, the screams of their victims too. And to think that those damned knights in their shining armour considered her to be "not a threat", the one who was responsible for everything - every horror we fought, every man and woman kidnapped for "experiments"...and they let her go.

And now this woman, this Vampyre, is cooking up brand new plans and brand new monstrosities - while we have no leads at all. This is typical saradominist behaviour...Waltz in to take out the imposing, well-known figures then leave all the real threats behind! To hell with it - she'll die by my hand one day. The White Knights might've had the idiocy to let her go, but I know better. And what Proteus saw is clear proof of it.

Back on the here-and-now, though. With the fresh blood - well-armed fresh blood - we stand a half-chance at taking one of the skeletal nightmares down. I've got Proteus working on a way to lure them out in large groups - we might be able to fight the occasional one, but a horde of them's impossible to deal with. So instead, we lure them to a trap and seal them in. Then, maybe at long last, we'll be able to travel to Paterdomus safely. I heard word that something had arrived for us - perhaps some rations, or even medical supplies? It'll be a sight for sore eyes after this fresh new hell.

For now, we prepare to go on what might be an all-or-nothing trip. That said - what we have to lose compared to what we could gain...it's a risk we have to take. Zamorak preserve me should this go wrong.

Screen-Name: Silver Lance (Subject to change, always has "Lance" or "Xain in it&quot)

Character Name: Morgan Wizeman

Character Race: Human

Valuable Skills: Dark Magic Power-Booster (3 charges, long as (bleep) incantation), level 3 fire magic, herbal healing, knitting, leatherworking

Last Myreque Quest Done: River of Blood

Brief History: Morgan Wizeman was born a Bedabin nomad. He was always seen as a little odd by the rest of the tribe, often waving around a piece of cactus calling it a "wand" and pretending to preform magic spells.
At the age of fifteen, Morgan was rudely thrust into a world of hurt when he learned that magic was real. A trio of dark magicians attacked his tribe in the dead of night. The explosions and fire quickly woke the entire camp, but they had never seen magic before and had no defense to it. All were summarily cut down except Morgan, who was enslaved.
He spent eight years toiling under the whip of these three monsters, until a green-clad figure accosted him one day in the mages' field outside Yanille.
The mages sought to destroy the interloper, all were defeated. The wizard who saved him brought him to become a scholar in the Wizards' Tower library.
After a year of reading about magic, Morgan decided to try it. He begged some runes from a student under the care of his own teacher, and the entire building rocked with the power of the spell he unleashed.
Morgan was taught as best they could, but was eventually expelled after he stole a forbidden tome from the Library. Unbeknownst to the others, he had already memorised one of the spells.
Morgan now wanders Gielinor, knowing not where he is going, nor what he is looking for. One thing he does know: he will protect the innocent, at any cost.
