Misaldi's Journal
Caistleday, Fentuary 24th

If you're reading this, you're either a trusted friend or a hated enemy. This is my own personal journal of my experiences in the Mort Myre, with the hopes that whoever finds it upon my corpse will at least know who to return me to. Let's hope this journal doesn't go "missing" like the last...My name is Misaldi Icau, second-in-command of the Myreque.

Finally, we have parchment again, a chance to write my thoughts down. For the last several months, I've been pinned down in Burgh De'rott in increasingly worse conditions. The sky turning blood-red, rumors of the Vampyres banding together again and to top it all off, towering skeletal creatures which have been introduced to the Myre in one way or another, skeletal creatures which are fast, resilient, and uncomfortably skilled hunters. "Peat mummies", Proteus calls them. One by one, our numbers have fallen to the point where most people are afraid to head outside of the Burgh' for fear of disappearing.

As a result, everything went to hell - communications primarily. I've not been over the wall to Meiyerditch in months now, either, the boat's missing. Living in a withering De'rott with little-to-nothing in the way of food or water has been tough to say the least, and we've practically fallen apart. With Calsidiu off infiltrating Darkmeyer to see what the Vampyres know of it, I was in charge of this wreck of a town.

There were four of us at first - Myreque at least, the townsfolk are alright - myself, Proteus, the smith and the mage. The smith went missing first. Proteus believes that if we can capture one of the near-unstoppable creatures he can figure out what makes it tick, and how we fight it properly. It took all four of us to take a single one down, and even then it was a close-run thing. Taking one alive seems almost too tall of an order, but we've little choice.

Misaldi's Journal
Caistleday, Fentuary 24th

A month more of trying to keep the folk of De'rott alive, and we finally had a plan ready. Proteus and the mage went off to scout out some damaged, abandoned facility from years ago looking for a place to keep one of the beasts hostage - only to find that the place was up-and-running again, being renovated by Vampyres. Another vyrelord hell-bent on messing with magic that shouldn't be touched by man nor beast. I set Proteus to work on finding a way to monitor the place, top-priority. Proteus and the mage said they saw insect-like being suspended in tanks. If the vampyres are experimenting with insects, then the swarm of mosquitoes across Morytania could have uncomfortable implications. Then, to top it all off, the mage went missing, presumed dead. Another victim picked off by the Peat Mummies.

It's just me and Proteus left in De'rott. Calsidiu's too deep into Darkmeyer to contact safely and everyone else is dead or missing - likely turned into another reanimated skeleton waiting to hunt us down. Mosquitoes fill the Burgh' making it almost uninhabitable, and we've not even got enough iron to make a cage for one of the skeletons, even if we did, somehow, capture one.

A short trip to Paterdomus at least gave us a chance to restock on medical supplies and to send out a call for aid. We're in desperate circumstances here. It'll take nothing short of a miracle to get us out of this spot.

Character Name: Jason "The Silvthril Fist" Richter

Character Race: Human

Valuable Skills: Bashing, making vampyres into ash, manual demolition, beating metal into shape, fishing

Last Myreque Quest Done: In Search (Have the levels for In Aid and Hallowvale, plan to do tomorrow)

Brief History: Jason was born 37 years ago to a poor family in Varrock. His father was a smith and his mother kept the house. Over the years, Jason learned his father's trade. Eventually, his family moved east to Canifis, as business was slowing in Varrock, and as Jason's dad always said "Every town needs a good smith!" Little did they suspect the werewolves planned to take them to their vampyric masters from the moment they arrived. Jason managed to hide, but his parents were taken. Not long after, he found the Myreque, and put his natural strength to a new use; crushing vampyre skulls with silver clubs of his own making. Though he longs to get his hands on the precious silvthril.

Accepted! Jason ought to be a welcome asset to the Myreque. We can work something out in-game soon.

Character Name: Raegal Kahir

Character Race: Kharidian Human

Valuable Skills: Trained swordsman and experienced warrior, seasoned veteran of many battles. Skilled with a shortbow and knows how to keep quiet. Very basic survival skills.

Last Myreque Quest Done: All

Brief History: Raegal was born and raised in Al Kharid to a former-mercenary turned minor noble. His father taught him everything he could that was combat related, including basic swordsmanship and the use of bows and spears. He left Al Kharid as a young man, venturing out into the world and hiring out his sword as a mercenary.

Raegal fought in various armies, from Kandarin to Asgarnia. When in his early 20's, he settled in Misthalin which would become his home. To begin with, he took odd jobs to support himself, but eventually earned the trust and friendship of Queen Lavinia and the royal family. Raegal was awarded a place in the newly formed Queensguard, and would fight in numerous battles for the Queen. When her reign came to an end, he was named Lord Commander of the Kingdom's armies and formed the Salve Company, leading a number of missions into Morytania itself.

As the Salve Company was disbanded, and the Lansing dynasty left the throne, Raegal chose to serve the Lansing family instead of the Kingdom of Misthalin. After years in their service, he looked further afield, travelling around Gielinor - before eventually setting his sights on Morytania once more, which will hopefully bring him in contact with this group.
