Military Overview
The Military of the Kingdom of Misthalin is divided into five main sections.
The Palatine Guard
- Acting as the Royal Guard and shields to the King, Queen and the Royal Family. Only 8 elite men or women could take up the position. Their oaths are for life. They can only be commanded by the Crown or the current Lord/Lady Commander, whom takes their orders from the Ruler.
The Grey Company
- A newly formed Company . These men and women act as a military expedition force funded by the Crown whom can be placed anywhere in the Kingdom to restore order and deal the Crown's justice when needed. They are lead by a Crown chosen Commander and officers, with the footmen being namely peasants.
The Crown Levies
- The direct and standing forces of the Crown and the Kingdom. Mostly coming from the City of Varrock and the Crownlands, it is the always standing force if the need arises to march onwards. It is commanded by the Crown Marshal
The Bannermen
- A more loose term to refer to the milita, local Men-At-Arms and local Knights the Lord of a certain area can command and call up if needed. In times of war, the Crown can call up all the banners and march off to war.
The Navy
- Referring to the Misthalin Navy as a whole. Small compared to the likes of Kharid or Asgarnia, the Misthalin Navy is commanded by a number of seasoned officers with the Crown starting to fund shipbuilding wharfs to build their navy.
