So. Ex-roleplayer here who moved onto better and brighter places after seeing the state of W42 sink ever deeper into the mud. Toyed around with the idea of returning and starting my own small group, but quite frankly, it seems like world 42's got barely any blood left in it.

That said, I want to ask one simple question - just to get the opinions of everyone around here:

Should Player-own kingdoms be removed?

That's all. I could talk all day about my own personal opinions on the matter, but quite frankly, this is just me being curious about the general opinion these days. Note: The general opinion, not the loudest. Discussion is fine, but I more want to see what you all think rather than having one vocal person trying to persuade others in the thread.

I think if you ask any sane person who has been around to experience the last couple of weeks, you'll likely get a unanimous vote for abolishing POKs, the only parties that likely wouldn't vote for it to be abolished would be those with a vested interest in POKs themselves, which honestly is kind of fair.

Nah, for real though, I wouldn't mind no POKs, but I can't see this being universally agreed in any stretch of the imagination. All these sins disguised as blessings

Believe me when I say this, as I've been in the thick of things for a long time now.

PoKs are not the problem. The people leading them are to blame, for the most part. I will humbly include myself in that list. (Even though I've given up my PoK.)

I don't think all hope is lost, and I do think that it can be fixed. Unfortunately it would require a shift in power to different hands that aren't so caught up in spite and hatred. Currently we have grudge-riding individuals who are straight up refusing to cooperate and compromise on anything whatsoever. People that think they're some high horse authority with the power to dictate what goes and what's accepted, and I genuinely don't have any idea how an ego could become so damned inflated.

If I thought removing PoKs would fix the community, I'd be on board. But there are simpler solutions.

This isn't a troll thread. I'm trying to stay neutral, but personally I believe one of the major issues with the state of 42 is POKs. It's not everything, but it's the reason I left a few years ago. And from my poking around, it's only gotten worse.
