As posters put up several weeks ago will attest, the Duke of Sarim is hosting a tournament. While the general public and adventurers were kept busy by their affairs, he has had an arena and stands erected and advertisement for the event has been plentiful. The opportunity to fight against the Duke fabled knights of four (Tomlin of Saradomin, Jacque of Zamorak, Ivor of Armadyl and Ragnar of Bandos) was one few warriors in the land could let pass.
With the tournament underway, and pesky adventurers kept busy, the Duke observed the clashes with feint amusement; he did not enjoy the pointless display of valor as some would call it. In the melee, his knights made short work of any who challenged them and quickly rose to the final four within the event.
His knight of Bandos, an old Fremmenik by the name of Ragnar, who had held the post for over three decades, was a favourite to win within the tournament and, as he defeated Ivor of Armadyl, it was clear why. The stands grew silent as Jacque of Zamorak was called into the arena to face Tomlin of Saradomin; there was an unspoken rule that cheering for the Zamorakian knight, rumoured to have Kinshra connections, was unlucky.
The Zamorakian waited for the Saradominist to arrive in vain; a few moments later, the Duke was approached by Tomlin's squire who whispered four words into Havelock's ear:
'Tomlin has been murdered'.
The Duke halted the tournament claiming to be tired with, what he proclaimed to be,
the ordeal of watching pointless acts of valor; it really is no secret that he puts on such events to entertain others and not himself. His head Watchman, Samuel Times, was called to investigate and, given the nature of the death, Havelock has issued the Watchman to summon Aeldrin and all those involved with the Vermillion incident to return their favour to him.
The Duke wants his Knight's killer found and quickly before the Church gets involved.
Roll a D20 to pay respects.
