Theurgy and Clerical Magic
°ï¦ï° ¯¨`'•=.,,.=•'`¨¯,.=•'`¨¯

Not every acolyte or officiant at a temple or shrine is a cleric. Some priests are called to a simple life of temple service, carrying out their gods' will through prayer and sacrifice, not by magic and strength of arms. When a cleric takes up an adventuring life, it is usually because his or her god demands it. Pursuing the goals of the gods often involves braving dangers beyond the walls of civilization, smiting evil, or seeking holy relics in ancient tombs. ~ A Life Beyond Holy Service*

Clerics are the mortal agents of their deities, spreading the faith of their god wherever they go. They seek to further their gods aims and maintain their faith's presence in the rapidly shifting world around them. Clerics being of religious orders are viewed as some of the most trustworthy and moral magical practitioners in Gielinor as long as their gods are accepted by the general populous.

Guthix
°ï¦ï° ¯¨`'•=.,,.=•'`¨¯,.=•'`¨¯

Guthix is the god nature and balance. He was the first of the young gods to arrive to Gielinor, soon bringing in the goddess Seren and other races including the humans, sheep and elves. He believed in the concept of balance, and brought the aforementioned races - who had no concept of the gods and no inclination to either good or evil - to Gielinor to live in harmony with their surroundings and allowed them to make their own choices so the balance between good and evil would be maintained, although with the arrival of the gods, this plan failed. He was known to be a very serious and decisive being. ~ The Way of Balance, scripture

Guthix holds domain over the aspects of Life and Nature and is considered to be a Neutral god, believing in the balance between good and evil, order and chaos. Clerics of Guthix often have a deep connection to the natural world around them and seek to make sure that the balance of nature is preserved. They are equally at home in a city as they are in the wild places of the world and aim to spend equal time in both maintaining the ebb and flow of the inhabitants.

Guthixian Clerics of Life seek to make understood the balance between life and death and its importance. They devote their lives to understanding medicine and healing to better make the decisions of how to keep the circle of life rotating.

Guthixan Clerics of Nature seek to preserve the green places of the world and maintain the balance between civilization and the wilds. They devote their lives to protecting the flora and fauna of the world from harvesting and making sure that all things return to nature when they have finished their time on this plane.

Darkness
°ï¦ï° ¯¨`'•=.,,.=•'`¨¯,.=•'`¨¯

There are many faiths that would seek to plunge civilization into chaos, destroy them entirely, or rebuild them in their own cruel and tyrannical image. Clerics that follow these deities are feared and often hunted across the lawful and good aligned kingdoms of Gielinor. They often seek to bring strife or conflict in ways that will turn those around them to their faith for salvation and will commonly go to any length to achieve their ends. These gods hold domain over the aspects of Trickery, Chaos, Darkness, and Domination not seeking to watch civilization flourish but to stunt it, damage it, or control it.

Zamorak
- Zamorakian Clerics of Darkness seek to corrupt all that is holy and good in the world, believing that the natural state of the world is destruction and decay. They devote their lives to sabotaging progress and ruining lives to bring their victims closer to the benediction of Zamorak.

Zaros
- Zarosian Clerics of Domination seek to bring back their lost god to Gielinor to rebuild his ancient empire and dominate the citizens of the plane. They devote their lives to seeking out lost powers and magics and bringing strength to the Mahjarrat loyal to Zaros in the hopes that he shall return.

Bandos
- Bandosian Clerics of Chaos seek to disrupt the world around them and bring conflict and strife to those around them. They devote their lives to combat, agitation, and war to bring glory to their brutish god.

Sliske
- Sliskeen Clerics of Trickery seek to disrupt the world around them but for it to disrupt and cause problems for other as well. They devote their lives to bringing misery and failure to great plans by sabotaging key events in order to ruin families, guilds, or kingdoms.

Druidicism and Anima Magicks
°ï¦ï° ¯¨`'•=.,,.=•'`¨¯,.=•'`¨¯

Druids revere nature above all, gaining their spells and other magical powers either from the force of nature itself or from a nature deity. Many druids pursue a mystic spirituality of transcendent union with nature rather than devotion to a divine entity, while others serve gods of wild nature, animals, or elemental forces. The ancient druidic traditions are sometimes called the Old Faith, in contrast to the worship of gods in temples and shrines ~ Origins of the Old Faith*

Druids make parallels with Clerics and other religious mages but never truly intersect. They exist in a space that is both granted through devotion and worship of the natural world but at the same granted to them in a natural way channeling the flow of the Anima Mundi (the energy of the world) into changing reality to how they believe it should be. Druids have a powerful kinship with plants, animals, and the land and often devote themselves to the mysticism and esoteric learning of one of these worldly aspects.

Circle of the Land
°ï¦ï° ¯¨`'•=.,,.=•'`¨¯,.=•'`¨¯

The Circle of the Land is made up of mystics and sages who safeguard ancient knowledge and rites through a vast oral tradition. These druids meet within sacred circles of tree or standing stones to whisper primal secrets. The circle's wisest members preside as the chief priests of communities that hold to the Old Faith and serve as advisors and rules of those folk. ~ A Cultural History of Taverly Druidicism*

Druids that have a strong connection to the natural world join the fold of the Circle of the Land, channeling their natural affinity for certain biomes to strengthen their magics. Druids of this circle come from all over Gielinor: some from the woods of Misthalin, others from the frozen wastes of the Fremmenik Provinces, some from the southern shores of Mudskipper Point, others from the dunes of the deadly Kharid, some from the plains of central Kandarin, others from the great mountains of northern Asgarnia, and others still from the mires and bogs of Morytania. Each of these druids bearing different skills and talents than the last, that allow them to better influence and interact with their chosen homeland.

Circle of the
Moon
°ï¦ï° ¯¨`'•=.,,.=•'`¨¯,.=•'`¨¯

Druids of the Circle of the Moon are fierce guardians of the wilds. Their order gathers under the full moon to share news and trade warnings. They haunt the deepest parts of the wilderness, where they might go for weeks on end before crossing paths with another humanoid creature, let alone another druid. Changeable as the moon, a druid of this circle might prowl as a great cat one night, soar over the treetops as an eagle the next day, and crash through the undergrowth in bear form to drive a trespassing monster. The wild is in the druid's blood ~ Secrets of the Moonclan*

Originating from the exiled Fremmenik tribe of Lunar Isle, the Circle of the Moon is a jealously protected order that very infrequently accepts new members. Teachings of this circle show that the world is malleable and magic simply needs to shift to rewrite the natural order of things. The lunar spell library works not unlike alchemy but to a much greater extent. Due to the advanced and ancient nature of these spells it is even believed that adepts in this circle can change their shape at will allowing them to truly become one with nature under the guise of an animal.

Circle of the
Shepard
°ï¦ï° ¯¨`'•=.,,.=•'`¨¯,.=•'`¨¯

Druids of the Circle of the Shepherd commune with the spirits of nature, especially the spirits of beasts and the fey, and call to those spirits for aid. These druids recognize that all living things play a role in the natural world, yet they focus on protecting animals and fey creatures that have difficulty defending themselves. Shepherds, as they are known, see such creatures as their charges. They ward off monsters that threaten them, rebuke hunters who kill more prey than necessary, and prevent civilization from encroaching on rare animal habitats and on sites sacred to the fey. Many of these druids are happiest far from cities and towns, content to spend their days in the company of animals and fey creatures of the wilds. ~ Voice of Tai Bwo Wannai

Druids with strong connections to the living world choose to devote themselves to this circle, believing that all have a space in this world and that they must defend that right. Members of the Circle of Shepherds often build shelters and homes for the sick and wounded protecting them from further harm and seek to punish those that damage the ecosystems of nature. These druids rarely are not followed by a plethora of pets and companions made of former charges that have decided to follow the druid on their journeys repaying the kindness shown to them by assisting the druid in their further work.

Circle of
Twilight
°ï¦ï° ¯¨`'•=.,,.=•'`¨¯,.=•'`¨¯

Druids of the Circle of Twilight seek to exterminate undeath and preserve the natural cycle of life and death that rules over the cosmos. Their magic allows them to manipulate the boundary between life and death, sending their foes to their final rest while keeping their allies from that fate. These druids seek out lands that have been tainted by undeath. Such places are grim and foreboding. Once vibrant forests become gloomy, haunted place devoid of animals and filled with plants dying a slow lingering death. ~ Druids of the Dark Places*

Growing out of resistance to the Vampyres and mass of undeath that permeates Morytania, the druids native to the swamps created a circle devoted to resisting and driving out the invaders from their homeland. Delving deep into dark and ancient lore druids of this circle have learned how to manipulated the powers of life and death to best combat their immortal and deathless foes that stalk the shadows of the bog.
