Despite the vast breadth of magic practitioners in Gielinor there are still some that don't fit any of these categories and need to be discussed separately in their own right.

Bards
- Not simply wandering minstrels, Bards have found a way to blend magic into their performances and are quite skilled at conjuration and illusions. Skilled at picking up tricks and spells along the way many Bards have spell books and lists that expand into other branches of magic as well.

Arcane Knights
- More common during the Golden Age of Magic, some noble houses choose to train their heirs in both martial and magical prowess. Being trained similar to classical learned Wizards, Arcane Knights focus on magics and spells that assist them in combat such as Abjuration and Evocation.

Paladins
- Holy warriors for the various gods of Gielinor, Paladins bear similarities to Arcane Knight as they blend sword and sorcery but instead channel their powers through their faith as a Cleric would. This gives Paladins many abilities that differ from other mages, healing capabilities and holy magics against the undead and abhorrent.

Arcane Trickster
- One of more popular offshoots of mages as various magical practices have become considered asebeia under the new regime is the Arcane Trickster. Often talented rogues and thieves who have picked up knowledge of enchantments and illusions magic in order to assist in the completion of "sensitive" jobs, these individuals have lead to a rise in policing of magical crime in urban areas.

Rangers
- Feared as outsiders by the common folk even before magic fell from grace, rangers are skilled hunters, woodsmen, and pathfinders. Choosing to dwell in the wilder parts of the world rangers are often well trained to defend themselves but have also picked up several tricks from the Druids sharing a common interested in nature and the wild.

The Wizard's Tower, A History
from The Historia Arcana,
by Maximus Torpus

Let it be known that the chronicle of the Wizard's Tower is a twisting one. It is not a heroic story told to children when they need to sleep. The mages of the Tower came up again some of the greatest threats the world has ever known and haven't always come out unscarred. Though the Tower is ancient beyond belief this chronicle begins in the 5th age with the rebirth of the gold age of the Tower. It begins with Isaac Lunest. Isaac Lunest was the first of a new line of Archmage at the Tower being specifically skilled in wind magics. Archmage Lunest was best known for the recruitment of many of the mages that would come to define the Tower in the years to come as well as seek out a series of lost magic libraries scattered across Gielinor. Under his tenure the Runespan was also discovered and leading to the mass distribution of runes across the continent. However no Archmage serves his term with black marks on their record. During Lunest's leadership the Archmage of Enchantment only ever refered to as Andrei began human experimentation to generate magical ability in non-magically talents peoples. Of his 10 initial experiments only 1 survived a child that was known as Cipher. Outraged by the atrocities committed but stayed by the mercy of the Earth Archmage Saleh Dinh, Lunest exiled Andrei to serve trial in Falador for his crimes. If only he knew what his mercy would wrought.

Time pasted and leadership passed on from Lunest to his closest and only remaining Archmage Saleh Dinh. Archmage Dinh's tenure was rife with conflict as old friends came back to haunt the Tower. It became embroiled in a conflict with the newly revived Zamorak Mage Institute, a band of outlaw and immoral mages that sought to sow chaos and strife in Gielinor. Somehow learning of the Runespan and its connection to the rune altars the ZMI began draining them of their energy and striking at the Tower. A great battle ensued between the ZMI and the Tower concluding with a duel between the Tower and the best the ZMI had to offer being lead by the exiled Archmage Andrei who had return for revenge against the organization that had not shared his vision. Rest was not available for the Tower as they quickly became involved with a Mahjarrat who had long since been bound below Daemonheim being revived by powerful chaos mage that reanimated the fallen ZMI and sought to use the Mahjarrat to conquer Gielinor. The Tower attempted to stop the onslaught but always seemed to be one step behind until they finally managed to defeat the Mahjarrat as it was unbound in the center of Daemonheim. The Tower saw no rest as it was required to interupt a novice necromancer as they tried to summon a demon to enhance their power. The ritual went awry and instead of summoning something they could control, two named demons stepped out of the Abyss and slew the necromancer only allowing the Tower mages to leave to send a message. The named demons then proceeded to attack at settlements and set themselves up in the Wilderness far to the North. The Tower attempted to stop these demons but entered into a conflict with a paladin order known as the Justicars who believed it was their duty to destroy these demons and the stop the Tower from interfering.

The conflict concluded with an attack on the Justicar forces from the Tower essentially ending the order all together and an attack on the Demon's stronghold which lead to one of the two demon's death but also the death of Saleh Dinh leaving the Tower leaderless.
The Tower fell into momentary chaos as they were leaderless and still recovering from a massive conflict with powerful foes. A mage known as Katerina emerged as the new Archmage of the Tower as she had become Saleh's closest advisor before death. This came with some unease for the Tower as Katerina had formerly been a member of the ZMI that had defected long after the conflict had ended. But the Tower continued and continued in the same fashion it always had quickly gaining the ire of a family of Vyre nobility that had moved into Draynor manor having a history with the Tower's Water Archmage Alexander Vyrell. The conflict was bloody but short ending with most of the Vyres dead and the rest fleeing, joined by Cipher the former ZMI mages that had joined the Tower many year previous. The Tower earned no rest it seemed as a lead brought them to an abandoned temple deep in the Kharidian desert and an ancient idol that activated on its own creating a set of "evil twins" to the Tower mages involved. This anti-Tower sought to kill their originals banding together under a previously unknown anti-Saleh and battled the Tower. Only the betrayal of the anti-Roe Umbra (who later became known as Nero) lead to the defeat of the negatives and the restoration of Saleh Dinh to his negative's body returning him to the Tower.

The Tower rejoined by their beloved former Archmage set forth encountering a mysterious set of orbs that seemed to have the power to manipulate time. Racing against another mage that seemed to be better versed in time magics both sides were blindsided by a group of lizard people known as Viashino who had ravaged the land several decades previous. Desperate to stop another massacre the Tower quickly collected all seven of these orbs and fought off the Viashino ending the conflict once and for all. At the conclusion of these struggle Saleh Dinh and Katerina felt it best to leave the Tower disappearing quietly and leaving the fate of leading what was becoming known as both the most successful but equally dangerous magic guild in Gielinor to Alexander Vyrell.
In the cold month of Octumber the Tower Wizard's held a ball in honor of the season. Mages from across Misthalin took part and the ball was going well until unplanned entertainment arrived in the form of an army of Zombies led by a Necromage who had crashed the party. The zombies were quickly dealt with and the ball was evacuated however in the confusion the Necromage managed to break into the vault under the guild. The wizards pursued him and found he had retrieved a Skull enchanted with Dark Magicks to find and revive a group of 4 demons that would herald the coming of a Demonic Overlord that would bring about the end of civilization as we know it. The Necromage introduced himself as Christopher Blackwood and promptly set loose the first of the 4 demons on the wizards and teleported away. The Tower dispatched the demon which vanished upon it's defeat and the Tower went to the drawing board to find and stop Blackwood. They forcibly enlisted the help of an imprisoned Necromancer who sent them to the beaches of Karamja to find Blackwood already there in the process of summoning the second demon.

The Tower did battle but once again the Necromage got away. They finally had a victory in Falador against the 3rd demon which they killed but did damage most of the city. This trend continued with the first destruction of Ashdale. Finally Blackwood offered the Tower a challenge, he would fight them in a nearby dungeon to see if they could stop him before he summoned the Demon Overlord. The Tower was successful in stopping Blackwood and returning the 3 remaining demons to their graves.
Early in the new year the Tower received a letter from the Wizard's Council informing them that they were required to attend a meeting of the Guilds in Taverly. The meeting would consist of a festival like event with a combat tournament between the apprentices. The fair was going well and the Tower was doing well in the tournament until the city came under attack from a crimson clad army that proceeded to burn and pillage Taverly until a combined force of the Tower and the other guilds forced them back but not before the heads of the guilds were captured and taken to Falador. The Tower then learns that the attack was orchestrated by the self-titled "King" of Falador and that he is holding the guild leaders ransom in return for the dissolving of all magic guilds in the council. The Tower staged a rescue mission where they manage to rescue all of the guild leader except for their own and their Wind Archmage who was captured at the same time. Their rescue is cut short when they are caught and had a dialogue with the King. He agrees to let their leaders free if they obtain a mystical flower that has the power to heal his dying daughter and never perform magic in his domain. The Tower accepted and traveled to the furthest corner of the Wilderness to obtain the flower.

They return and save the daughter only to find the King killed by his fool and his consort who have vendettas against him. The Tower dispose of the fool and the Black Queen and restore the city under the new leadership of Lady Rose, the King's now well daughter.
After the excitement of the Council meeting the Tower was looking for a time to relax. Sadly this peace was shattered when they received a letter that a courier sending them a job offer had been found dead in his inn room in Draynor. The Tower investigated and stayed in the inn, encountering a mysterious Elder being and a group of cultists that attack the Tower Wizards in an ethereal realm. They then traveled into the Draynor fens and find themselves in a bizarre marsh with a temple dedicated to a tentacled god of unknown origin. They fled the temple narrowly avoiding a parade of cultists entering it and return to reality. They then track down the man who has been sending them the letters and learned that a friend of his was taken by the cultists and now he fear for his life as they are hunting him down. He then sends them to meet with a sailor in Port Sarim who told them of his encounter with the cult and is promptly killed by the elder being that they fought before. They then learn of a silver key that will permanently lock the tentacle god they found in his prison dimension and set out to find it. They are deceived by their handler who turns out to be the elder being and sends an army of cultist to storm the Tower. After a huge battle just outside of Tower island the cultist are defeated and the Elder Being and it's god were banished back to their prison dimension with the silver key.

It was summer time in Gielinor and the Tower received another summons to the Wizard's Council to meet in Falador this time, as an apology from Lady Rose for her father's actions the previous winter. The festival was going quite well however the Tower was on their guard after learning that the head of the Yanille Guild was in on the attack the previous winter. They decide to bring this up during the final meeting. This causes the head of the Yanille Guild to summon up his guards and turns the meeting into a spellslinging battlezone which continues out onto the streets of Falador. The Tower and it's allies manage to force the Yanille Faction out of the city but must now prepare for war. The first attack is on Ashdale, the Tower is put in charge of the advanced response team and quickly reaches Ashdale managing to save most of the civilians and the guild but loses the island in the process. The Arcane Empire (as they call themselves) then attacks Karamja trying to gain a naval foothold against the United Guilds which the Tower puts down but not after causing the Volcano to erupt. The allies then learn that the Arcane Empire is marching from Yanille to Taverly. The Tower decides to abandon their home to help set up a final stand against the AE in Taverly and manage to defeat the chain of command for the AE finally ending the Schism.
The Tower, recuperated from their trying fight during the Schism over the sunny months of Summer was interrupted by the arrival of Glace's father who demanded that she come with him to their homeland. Just before the Guild Schism Glace had disappeared after a fight with a rival Tower mage had gone sour. The Tower gathered their resources and scoured the country eventually locating her. The Tower then had to deal with the harsh reality that if Glace left she may never come back.

To try and influence the outcome to their favor the Tower decided to join the Kori's on their return trip to the Land of Snow. Upon arrival they learned that the current Matriarch of the Ice Sprites was being deposed and Glace was next in line to be Queen. After a series of bouts with her father and exploration of the frozen countryside the Tower took part in the proceedings to chose the new Queen. Through some subterfuge and a lot of luck they managed to both get Glace the position of Queen and allow her to stay at the Tower letting her father run the Kingdom in her place as a regent. This also lead to an embassy in Ardounge for the Ice Sprites to better connect between Gielindor and the Land of Snow.
After a surprisingly long period of quiet for the Tower they receive a letter from an old friend of Archmage Vyrell's asking them if they were interested in helping explore an ancient ruin that had been found near Varrock. The Tower deciding this wouldn't be too dangerous accepted and join in the excavation. After a bit of digging they found a series of chapels dedicated to what looked to be Pagan gods of a long lost religion. Their final stop was in a dark and grim chapel that looked to be dedicated to a female Death God. With further prodding they accidentally break open a crypt in the chapel and find stairs leading deeper into the earth. They follow and find a statue to a 6th Deity that looks like a Demon. It comes to life in their presence calling itself Chaos and declares that it will find its 5 Archon brethren, slay them, and extract his revenge on the world. Chaos disappears and the Tower is approached by Lady Death who explains that the only way to stop Chaos is destroy her scythe which he had stolen. However the Tower must find the other 5 Archons first.
