I find Musk smart but....this change to twitter on the viewing cap makes no sense.
don't know when it was changed as i rarely use twitter, so browsing on it via my throwaway account, received a popup "your rate limit has been reached", at first i didn't see the popup and was wondering why stuff wasn't loading, thought it was internet so i spammed refresh.
Throwaway account then got autobanned......another 20seconds i made another. But it clearly stated on the ban "Your account is permanently set to read only mode" <---this is why i made the account, i don't post on it.......
My Confusion isn't on the ban, it's made with temp mail. It's the limit, it seems countering....imagine twitter as YouTube. "You may only watch 40 videos per day unless you pay X per month" Just doesn't seem healthy for twitter to have a limit that will deter people from using it.
"Hey Jack, check my twitter i just posted some jokes"
"I can't...."
"Why not?"
"I hit the limit 4 hours ago, post it elsewhere so i can read it"
I also find it ironic that he made the logo an 'X' like he misread a dream that twitter might end and instead used said warning to create a logo with it.
I don't own a website, you think more viewing = more money + maybe selling extra features as a side but a full limit is odd to me. UNLESS...."today we will be cutting some servers and limiting usage as result, these servers are just costing too much".
