I suspect that Syril Karn might, just might, have had his world shaken so much that he ends up joining the Rebellion. That would be a great story arc!

IMDB is listing this as having a release date of August 11th, 2023... but to me that seems very optimistic, as the series is still only in pre-production.

Amandla Stenberg has been cast as the (as yet unnamed) protagonist. The leading man will apparently be Lee Jung-Jae ('Squid Game'). Jodie Turner-Smith ('Anne Boleyn', 'The Last Ship') and Manny Jacinto ('Tne Good Place', 'Top Gun: Maverick') are also known to have landed roles.

The series is set in the final days of the High Republic era, which on the main timeline puts it around 100-200 years before the prequel series, when the Dark Side is beginning to emerge. It therefore may (or may not) provide background for the events of the early Skywalker saga. Director Leslye Headland ('Russian Doll') has also made clear that it will be a female-centric show, although what that means is open to interpretation. A gay protagonist, perhaps?

And that seems to be about all we know so far! Although the series has a logo, there are no teasers or trailers yet, because filming still hasn't started...

New release dates!

Season 2 of
The Bad Batch
is now slated for release on January 23rd, 2023.

Season 3 of
The Mandalorian
will apparently start streaming on February 22nd, 2023.

I caught up on a couple more episodes of
Andor
last night... I was wondering how long it would be before Andy Serkis made an appearance in the Star Wars universe :P

Not complaining, he's a great actor... but he does seem to be in everything!
Also nice to see another old familiar face - Chris Fairbank... even if it was just a small role.

A few more episodes to go, I might try to finish it tonight.
