I've seen a few news clips about those blue disposable masks that a lot of people wear.

Apparently they have a plastic component to them and are single use plastics that are causing a lot of problems in the environment especially in the oceans.

I'm a essential worker, working with vulnerable families. Doesn't sound like you are Inspire you.


Kiwi, they don't sound good at all. I usually go through one each shift at work, if it's rather hot and sweaty I could go through two.

^Please don't bring politics into this thread; it's against RSOF rules and it brings in unwanted conversations.

Most people I see wearing masks on buses and in public have material/washable masks. I think it's people like me who only wear them at work or occasionally have Disposable masks as they ate very expensive to wear after a while.

Then why are these blue disposable masks becoming a problem in the environment if almost no one is wearing them?

And by the way most of the masks I see discarded all over the place are these blue plastic ones. I guess thats because people aren't going to throw their material/washable masks on the ground because they cost serious money.
