england has the 2nd highest rate in the world. and have just eased the rules on wearing masks social distancing, i dont see this ending well.

Still wearing my mask till early 2022. Then see how it's going.

Rather stay safer wearing it then risking catching it and passing it on and others die.

I'm hoping increasing case numbers in the UK right now do not translate to ICU admission and death, seems to be a slight uptick in the death rate but perhaps that's down to people being unvaccinated?

At least in the US right now, it seems like with the exception of a few, all of the deaths appear to be coming from those who are not vaccinated. It's unfortunate due to the hesitancy there but it's proving one thing, these vaccines are most certainly preventing death and keeping people out of hospital.

XSlay4DeathX, we're long past the time of full containment so it's pointless continually posting that everyone should ban travel to eradicate Covid, that isn't going to happen and neither is it the intention of most countries now - the intent is to utilize these vaccines to make Covid less of a thread to us and in the process, allowing us to return to normal in a way that we can live with it safely.

unfortunately ICU and death cases are on the rise in the UK as well

we have also got a fair few cases where people who are double vaccinated that are getting it. however as of right now they arent going into hospital. for now at least.

with COVID rapidly evolving who knows what can change with that, especially with so many cases per day.

The thing that worries is me is when people say " I'm young I'll be fine so I won't have the vaccine". They don't seem to understand that the more people who catch the virus the more chance there is of a mutation that evades the current vaccine. I would hate to see strict lockdowns again. :|

I think that by 'taking care of ourselves' will in turn 'help other people'

For example wearing masks, keeping personal distance from others, and using hand sanitizer that is often provided in shops etc all help to keep the whole country safe.

yep that is definitely the danger, and you can see it with people under 25, there was a survey and a large % (i cant remember what it is) of people under 25 pretty much gave this reason as to why they may not get the vaccine.
