So forever lockdowns right? Permanent poverty?
I didn't open the link.
I feel yes we will get on top of it.
Remember there a billions of people globally, we need to get the majority vaccinated. Covid and it's variants are tough viruses, our bodies need to build resistance or/and resilience to it and it's variants. Some people may never catch it even if they've been in contact with the virus, others will pick it up easily for what ever reason, I suppose it could be the same reason why some react badly to it while others not so much. It's going to take time and if countries are going to open boarders, come out of restrictions while the virus is still quite high in the region you are not going to get on top of it as fast as you may like, you are more likely to have surges as we have seen over the last 18 months.

Vaccines seem to be working, at least so far so good in that it's keeping people out of hospital so I guess that's the aim, to return to normal or as close to normal without the threat of people getting really sick, ending up in hospital and putting strain on healthcare systems.
So with that in mind, there would be less of a need for any further lockdowns, unless of course many people remain vaccine hesitant. but the goal it seems to is to live with it in a safer way through vaccination
I know here in Ontario, Canada they've said in pretty certain terms that they do not expect to go back into any form of lockdown again, but our vaccination numbers are also really high.

indeed we can see it here in england. even though cases are on the rise and people going into hospitial is on the rise now with eases to restrictions. the people going into hospital are young people. as they havent been able to have 1 or both of the vaccines. if everyone has the impression that vaccines were bad we would be in a lot worse situation now.
with eases to restrictions even more so yesterday it is going to push more people to get it and more to go into hospital. but we wouldnt be in this situation to ease the restrictions if it wasnt for the vaccines.
In the US they were close to 5000 people dying a day. After having a big vaccine push and almost half the population vaccinated they are down to just a few hundred dying a day.
