In real life next week, my gym membership is going to be upgraded (right now it lets me use the gym) to let me use swimming baths and saunas in my area, and I'm planning to start going once or twice a week, made this thread to find out if anyone else is interested in swimming
.
Myself I've always loved it for the fact that it trains multiple muscles of your body - Biceps, triceps, shoulders, front (Pecs/abs) and the legs all get a workout plus it improves stamina and relaxes you.
I cannot comprehend of how much I love the feeling of swimming, it's just an overall great feeling.
It sure is
200m Dunge, Rc, Mage and invention accomplished, + 120 Constitution/Slayer/Range/Summoning/Woodcutting/Mining/Defence/Strength and 110m fishing, got comp/MQC and 200m Fishing/Woodcutting/Mining as well as 120 herb/Farming/Cooking most 120s just Agility, Theiving, Hunter and Prayer left
Checking back on an old post
So how did the whole thing go in the end? Enjoy the chlorine while you can. Remember practice 'sighting.' That's swimmer talk for breathing in and out of the water so the body can circulate oxygen properly keeping your energy up and lasting longer in the water. You should feel relieved rather than exhausted after a swim. Restore breathing every three or four times when you need air on laps, other than that keep the head in the water.
The best stroke to me is butterfly. It tones the upper body and evens out the lower. Glad to advise
If you would like something to watch on Netflix, here you go = One Piece

Thanks, I tend to swim with my head out of the water and rest of my body in, not quite at the underwater stage yet, I do feel relieved after swimming.
And it went rather well thanks, hope things have been going well for you too!

I love to swim in the sea ( i live near the coast in Basque Country, Spain) and i consider it, in my humble opinion, the most complete excercise.
You should start swimming again, for three important reasons:
- Good for your body:
increases lung cappacity, zero impact to joints, all muscles trained.
- Good for your mind:
at a kinesthetic & motion coordination level. It is not fortuitous that medics suggest swimming to people with autism or other cognitive/developing disorders. It really works wonders.
- Good for your soul:
being surrounded by water is something deeply connected to our own origin. The feeling of tranquility and welfare feeds the spirit.
Best part... it's for all ages
Leveling +110 all skills and completing stuff here and there
