Whatever you do, don't go off the diving board until you actually know how to swim.

When I was about 8 years old, I had to be saved by a life guard. Jumped off the diving board and tried to doggy-paddle my way to the ladder. Half-way there, I started to sink.

It was actually a pretty traumatic experience and if the life guard wasn't paying attention, things could've gone south fast. Even now, I prefer not to swim, and when I shower, when the water is pouring on my head, it gives me the sensation that I'm drowning. Not fun. :P

In real life next week, my gym membership is going to be upgraded (right now it lets me use the gym) to let me use swimming baths and saunas in my area, and I'm planning to start going once or twice a week, made this thread to find out if anyone else is interested in swimming :D .

Myself I've always loved it for the fact that it trains multiple muscles of your body - Biceps, triceps, shoulders, front (Pecs/abs) and the legs all get a workout plus it improves stamina and relaxes you.

What's the update on your swimming as of 2019?

I started learning at the age of 5. Took up lessons for the next 7 years before I passed the relevant exams. It was a 20-minute drive to the pool from where I used to live.

Now I get a 15-minute walk to the nearest public pool, 30-45 minute swim, and the walk back home. It is (sort of) a weekly affair.

However I have a hatred for seawater, so swimming in beaches is a no.

My mom put me in swimming lessons before I could learn to walk. I still don't swim well, but enjoy it, I just don't get on the really deep water.

I could imagine an RS pool party.. Cellulite and pale skin as far as the eye can see.. Lmao. Someone needs to make some floaties that look like hotpockets.

Summer is coming (in australia) in a BIG way! Gong to be 35°C tomorrow O.0 and is only spring ! Faaaarrrr out!

In driver past a pool on my way home from work everyday... I might stop and take a dip tomorrow..

^ I extra wanna go and take a photo of my sexy body to show the forum what a real rs player looks like but I don't need a fan club... I like my haters.
Skillet? Skill no.

So much moot.

In my younger years, I swam like a fish. Nowadays, that has changed. Now, all I'm allow to do (or can do) is walk in water just above my shoulders and swing my arms as if walking out of water.

However, give me a mask and snorkel and I'll float like a log on my belly. I was on vacation with my family on the Gulf coast. I donned the mask and snorkel, got on my belly, with the intention of watching the fish and looking for empty shells. I fell dead asleep. When I woke up, I could hardly make out the shoreline. At first, I panicked but finally got myself calmed down. Back on my belly and swam to shore. No one even missed me.
