Yes I'd like to visit NZ maybe some time in the future..*

** ravens and carrying messages maybe they could be trained to as cor*ids are intelligent although how I don't know how you would go about it.

Pigeons all the way.

Get some binoculars if you've not got any as they'll enhance it so much. Yes just sitting down and watching them go about their business whiles away the hours!

They look a bit like a moorhen

Sparrowhawk flew out of the hedge with something it had caught, but couldn't see what it was :(

On the plus side, a red squirrel was spotted by the builder in the garden, so perhaps it wasn't just a random raid the last time :)

Must be nice to have red squirell locally.

Must be 40-50 years since they were here...

Anyway as per the chat thread I saw a hobby this morning!

Hear grey wagtails going up and down the river most days numerous time now which is good.

Indication of the river getting healthy I'd say.

Salmon were coming up to Doncaster I think earlier in the year after they installed some laddders for them to get past the weirs. Don't think they'll come this far up though as I'm not far from the source of the Dearne.

Went to Leightion Moss on Sunday.

Disappointed that I didn't see any Bearded **** but my brother didn't want to get up early.

However great views of Marsh Harrier, Great White Egret, Water Rail and Marsh *** more than made up for it.

Oh and Red Deer too!

"Life tick" in regards to the Marsh ***!

Ordered my bird food and will start putting it out now we've had a frost.

got loads of plywood of our joiner that was doing nothing plan on making some boxes +owl box.

keep seeing a Kestrel on the telegraph poles down the lane too.

Autumnal migrants are moving into the country now looking forward to the Waxwings.
