I like colourful birds, they look nicer and are easier to see
GJ on a patch tick
Two buzzard flushed from a tree when taking dogs out, lots of owls calling. Saw what I'm calling one of them flash across the path when I turned round.
Back home more owls calling!
Another tree to inspect tomorrow.

Good walk with dogs saw plenty of thrushes feeding on berries, both mistle and song.
Over to reserve this evening couple of ruff and loads of pied wagtails.
On way home odd sight of two herons in the middle of a stubble field, dno what they were doing unless they've seen vole/mice or something?
Quick google and it seems a reasonable assumption. One article was a heron eating a rabbit

Tawny owl calling loudly opened door and it flew out from the tree could make it out as it flew over
