nice thread. i've had a few thoughts about small tweaks so i'll post them here.


Aftershock procs show up as auto-attack damage with magic and ability damage with melee/ranged. Should be the same across all styles, preferably auto-attack splats.

Crackling currently deals magic damage regardless of your weapon style. Should be typeless aka based on weapon style.

Reflexes is an armor only perk, i'd like to see this as a weapon perk as well. Not really sure if this wasn't included for balancing reasons but i don't see anything wrong with this.

5 Rumbling components should always give Equilibrium 3. there's no reason for it to be a 2-3 roll.

Figure out and fix the issues with higher leveled inventors being punished when creating gizmos. Why can you get Biting 2 alone at lower invention levels but after a certain level you only ever get Biting 2+Cautious?

Superior elite void top + bottoms can't be disassembled currently. They should disassemble for 4 (preferably 5) pestiferous components each.
Reasons for extra comps: a) more commendations required = more time invested to upgrade the pieces for disassembly rather than disassembling standard top/legs @ 250 points for a quick 2 comps b) elite upgrade has a grandmaster quest requirement c) can't thaler elite upgrade or armor patches

Pestiferous components should be changed from Venomblood to an accuracy perk. Good way to have void retain value if it's not going to become augmentable.

Aftershock - Agreed, I even think it could be typeless as well (work as an attack amplyfier like my suggested Crackling change. I'd like to hear more opinions on this one first though.

Reflexes - I could add in, but I am not too sure about the use (as weapon slots are already overused). Could you maybe clarify why you would need it? Also maybe some more opinions on that first

I'll add rumbling - maybe even a more general version regarding all three-tiered perks

I think I have even more disassembly ideas, I'll add a new section for those ones these days

Regarding pestiferous components I'd try to keep this thread limited to bug fixes and QoL updates - a completely new perk would already be a content update. As this perk just has one rank I wouldn't see a balancing issue though if you can't get it via a rare material anymore (unlike scavenging 3 for instance)

The only reason I want this is to have a mobile/reflexes weapon gizmo on a weapon switch. It would be great for adrenaline stalling. Weapon slots are indeed full but there's no harm in giving us the option. Clear headed is already a weapon perk, seems like an oversight that one of the anticipation modifiers is a weapon perk but not the other.

Regarding pestiferous components
Sounds good. I just threw it in there because it was an old idea of mine + I noticed yesterday that pretty much all void pieces can be disassembled except superior elite top+legs and that annoyed me even more lol.

I'm curious about the amplifier thing. Personally I like it the way it is, it's nice to see the effects when they go off and the damage dealt. I understand this has a few downsides like going off on reflects, wasting dps on minions, etc.

this is something that everyone notices after a certain invention level. at lower levels we could use 5 direct components and get biting 2 by itself. once you pass whatever threshold you always get biting2+cautious. there's other examples i've seen of this but i can't recall them. it definitely feels like there's something up with the perk creation calculation.

a couple other suggestions i was going to edit into that first post i made.


Change item names from "augmented x" to "perkname perkname perkname perkname x". Nice way to search for exactly what you want. useful for presets when you have multiples of one item augmented. would allow you to see what perks other people are using when examined. only downside is obviously the ridiculously long item names lol.

Show players' perks when examining them (via the tooltip). Perks are game changers, there's no reason why we have an examine feature but can't see what perks other people are using. (this would only display if examine is not set to private.)
^ This is especially true for pvp activities. (equipment should be forced ON in examine window in pvp acitivities but that's for another thread.)

edit: I'd really like to see chat messages when my perk effects proc. Would love a toggle feature or something specifically to show me in my game chat when my perks go off. I know Biting does this but it's filtered which annoys me.

Not necessarily an invention tweak but it's inspired by current augmented item mechanics and augmenting dyed items. curious on your thoughts.


Dyed items should keepsake a copy, like augmented items and some TH items currently do.

This would give dyes a bit of value seeing as one of their two features will be devalued once augmented d2d items are released in June.

Players who dyed their items would be able to enjoy the cosmetics they payed for while having full use of their items. Currently dyed weapons see use but dyed armors tend to be bought and keepsaked. Dyed items are completely sunk from the economy so there are no downsides to this feature.

Once augmented dyed items are released this would be a great way to have players keep a cosmetic version of items they chose to dye (for cosmetics lol) while having full augmented item functions.





orrrrrr allow players to hide augmentation gears? we can already hide our entire setups with overrides, not sure why we have to see these gears on our equipment. maybe make hiding the gears a dyed item feature? wouldn't have issues with hidden gears if one of my ideas above is implemented to see what perks are on other players' gear.

Hiding augmentations gears - I would prefer to keep it as is, as you'll actually modify the item

Okay that I didn't even know, it is really weird, but in this case I would agree on doing the same for consistency

Though I'll addendum I think they need to make bank standers a longer term item (so it takes more to craft, but lasts longer for more reward) because as is I burn through all my bankstanders while sitting in the bank making bankstanders! It never ends!
