Lets assume Jagex discontinues all tokens currently in game and never brings them back. Would this be bad or good for the long term health of the game? Do rereleased tokens benefit the community? I personally have all the rereleased tokens Unlocked like the beach tokens.
Pros of discontinued tokens: Gives maxed players something to go for
Allows ppl who have a token unlocked to flex it
Allows ppl to flex feeding their tokens to trolls
Continues the discontinued item trend throughout runescape
All tokens are cosmetic and do not enhance gameplay
Cons: Adds more pressure to unlock more items other then dyes
May become unaffordable to the average player
I need my blue charms back.
Pros of rereleased tokens: Makes them affordable to the average player
Cons of rereleased tokens: Adds no value to the game
Players may quit
Less unlocks you can show off similar to dyes
Token may get rereleased because no one cared about it rather then someone actually enjoying the unlock.
I need my blue charms back.

It will kill rares, but would be beneficial for the majority, since every player has some tokens. in a way it would be a redistribution of wealth but token collectors like myself would become trillionaires im not sure many would like that.

There is alot of bias and hate of tokens whenever price goes up and it seems like everyone wants a rerelease because they hate them. From what I noticed if a token rises it will always be considered price manipulation because that don't like that specific item. Rereleases don't happen because they enjoy the item its because they hate them. Especially on reddit where you see lots of haters. Another example is turkies rerelease was based off "I hate turkeys so just rerelease them!"

I believe continuing the discontinued item trend for runescape will give max players something to do whether its a token or a new rare.

I don't know what's best. But I think Jagex shouldn't release every token repeatedly. It's nice for some to become rare. If they obliterate tokens, then they should release new rares.
Jagex seems to be considering allowing open purchase of tokens or unlocks for oddments, as a reward for buying spins. Because otherwise people just stack oddments and run out of things to buy.

Jagex seems to want us not playing for 40 hrs a week. They don't want us dead at age 30, nor unemployed.
So, they seem to look at the game as if players play for a few hrs, eventually complete most of the content, and then log out and do normal things. They don't seem interested in players hoarding pixels. But I could be wrong.
To Jagex's defence, old runescape without exercise is probably one of the least healthy activities a person could do. People aren't meant to not move for hours at a time, except when sleeping.

as it stands i recon tokens already have the biggest market in game
their prices have increased faster than any other item.
Rapid price changes are much more likely to occur in small markets, not large ones. The case with most tokens is that the majority are held by a tiny number of players who essentially control supply and can thus essentially manipulate the pricing.

Discontinuing more items is a terrible idea. All tokens should be added to the oddment store as soon as the promotion they are from concludes.
You have to remember that when most of the (now) discontinued items were originally released the goal was for the items to be an accessible fun item available to most every player. These items now require 1000s of hours of money making to obtain (assuming you start from nothing) which is not realistic for many players, especially newcomers. Rares these days are also used to store wealth for the massive number of RWTs (which is also bad for the game).
I'm also of the belief that having items that cannot be traded on the GE due to their high value is also bad for the game (prices are more easily manipulated and it leads to more opportunities for players to scam others).
Also arguing that "players may quit" because a token is re-released is laughable.

We've seen inflation too, but yea hoarders can't sell bulk of what they have without lowering price.

No, it's not. People enjoy merching.
I know a lot of players who were holding an assassin, hoping for them to rise. People store little stacks of tokens like they're stocks. They love selling some random token in the ge to find it's up 100x or 10000x.
