I agree with the ideals behind updating the way PC's, it is a broken system and impossible to tell legitimate trades from fake ones with the ease of modifying screenshots and use of alt/friend accounts.

However, your initial method of delivery (spamming discontinued item status and stating someone else should be running it because OP was not impartial) was poor. I barely login to forums (because of how biased and useless reporting threads are nowadays) and your posts made me want to log in to refute.

I agree. Can’t trust anyone’s screenshots nowadays either. It just gives people willing to take the time to trade between alts and change names the upper hand advantage. We really need the GE back to be able to conflict and call out fake trades.

We should all organize a strike and cancel our memberships until Jagex listens. It would be nice to even just have a separate GE that only accepts “platinum tokens” instead of mixing GP and tokens if that makes it any easier and we could just only add items to this new separate GE that have reached max cash in their GE values.

We have to keep up with these discussions on forums and reddit until Jagex realizes that not only 1% cares about this anymore because there’s a much larger percentage of the community that wants to eventually own a rare one day as the final goal. At this rate every rare will keep skyrocketing if nothing changes.

My initial 'delivery'(Which was a single post and not spam) is a legitimate concern I have, because the OP has nothing to do with rares community and zero contribution to "their thread", apart from hosting a thread that is only used to peddle a scam artist's FC in their signature under the guise of a "official" price checking thread, which once again(said FC) has nothing do with partyhats or rares, only token manipulation.

I can see that you feel very strongly about this, since it made you login to forums and incited a discussion, however for this thread let's keep our discussions limited to the scope of how we can improve price checking system.If you have any personal concerns to discuss, feel free to use ID chat lounge sticky, or message me in game.

I agree we cannot stop fake screenshots, but trust me when I say that the present rares community is very small, and limited to merchants, elite pvmers, and stakers.

Those active in the community can almost always tell, in case of partyhats at least when someone is trading their alt, based on the in game name or the price they are stating.

I realize what I propose is not the ultimate fix, and Jagex needs to do something concrete but for now whatever we have to work with, can at least be utilised in better ways.

Yup. and the worst thing is that its always the same person with the same song.

would penalties help with these problem makers. or would it scare the whole community along?. it would make me nervous about posting but at the same time safe that i know there are penalties for abusive behavior. (i know there are already things in place but do they help on the long run or is it limited)?. trusting certain pc lists or prices of items or websites that dont belong to jagex will get you into trouble notice: external websites and trades are your responsibility, dont get fooled!.
