These "dupe" rumor and glitches have been around for a long time. Yes, it happened once. Though with a simple search you can find "dupe" claims/videos every year and sometimes every few months. Most get no attention but every so often one gets hyped. The clear goal of this video was to manipulate prices. Economic adulteration is based off of a few factors. These factors are motivation and vulnerability. The motivation would be to make money, in this case it's clear the video maker wants to make money (it is his job after all). Views/likes and maybe even a cut of the inside manipulation would be the motivation. Next is vulnerability. It's super easy to make a short video and splice some things together. As for actual attempting to dupe in game, the motivation is there but less as it requires significant more time and resources. The vulnerability is much more difficult as there are systems in place to detect (remember the recent TH firework promo glitch). If jagex can detect a relatively small influx into the game economy and contain the issue with speed as proven with the recent TH issue, then I find this video very hard to believe. Reiterating, the goal of the video is clear that the streamer wants view/hits and wants prices to drop (likely to buy low and sell high when they go back up).
