Trillions of gp beeing duped,really?
Well that does explain a lot.

How,after 20 years this still happens? This game is so bad lol.

Like the point of a mmorpg is to build up things,like your account and your levels and also your wealth. And all of that is more or less rendered fruitless by events like this,its so dumb.

Its still sad to see but yes it doesnt really matter.

How can this go undetected lol,for apearently a long time?
Jagex doesn.t have good checks on the economy,i guess they dont find it important.
They dont understand what makes and breaks a game like this for the players.

Anyway,now that the cat is out of the bag everything will no doubt crash again.

The coins obviously have gone circulating in the main economy. Players buying rares with their duped coins that they bought,other players selling those rares for highly inflated prices.
Jagex has to come with some sort of statement about the situation,and it would be nice if they would explain how they are planning to prevent this in the future,if only to restore player confidence.

I doubt rares are duped,they are easy to keep track of for jagex and their number can not go up so jagex should instantly see if something is up if they actually check those numbers (which i guess they do).
With gp that is more difficult as that probably goes up all the time but still jagex should have noticed the way higher influx of gp.

Thought people knew about this already, the video has been out for like 2 weeks now, anyway, they probably only duped gp because that's easier to sweep under the rug, or atleast should be. I'd say it would be kinda dumb if jagex doesn't have triggers for when any discontinued item number increases in number

The original video by the dupers is like 2 weeks old

Jagex is surely a game, but its also way more than just the game. I am afraid Jagex cant let this one slide that easily. Runescape is one of all time biggest mmo around. They create values and workplace for many, not just inside Jagex. The level of trust lost in this situation is very big, and only way to not get Jagex been sees as a easy victim/mark, not seen as incompetent, and get credibillity in the marked, is to make some kind of actions. I expect at least some kind of investigations with some level of ban waves. Probably several big accounts are involved, and ban waves can be noticeable on the leaderboard..

They duped rares too, so nothing is safe. They knew they would destroy the economy if they only duped GP so they started duping items. No one knows for sure how many items, but I saw Santas, yellow phats, crackers, hweens and xmas scythes. Saw over 50 santas so could easily be a lot more for each item.
