Yes indeed! Splinter's theory is legit. I've had the same toughts about the dupe as he wrote.

Step 1) Dupe GP and Rares

Step 5) Ensure that your RWT/Bug abusing accounts have sold off less rares than the amount of rares bought through the GE.
Step 6) Get those RWT/Bug abusing accounts banned with a nice stack of authentic rares.
Step 7) Create video of duplicating said rares.
Step 8) Share clips with one of the most subscribed Youtubers and cause hype throughout the community to sell off rares.
Step 9) Buy back even more of these rares to hoard at extremely low price with the full knowledge that your fake accounts being banned caused the volume of rares to drop drastically.
Step 10) Enjoy your profits in the long-term through legit means on main account with a nice stack of these much lower volume rares.

@Richkngmidas, those are all important questions in reference to Step 8. What was the underlying motive for sharing these video clips? However, I don’t think it was done through a fake mirror server. Before this video was released to the mass, I found it suspicious that I was able to buy spirit shards in the GE for 20 gp each when you can sell for 25 each at shop. It would make sense if there were this many alts trying to offload this many shards.

The spirit shard incident might have just been myself. I had to free up money a few days ago in a pinch for a buy, and dumped some on the GE, from some of my alts for quick gp. Lol

But yeah, it could be evidence of this as well. Just saying.

But I agree with your theory. I think they distributed these videos to the largest possible RS audience was with the intention to crash rares, so they could buy more up.

Your theory about them deliberately banning large amounts of legitmate rares is pretty likely too, as it helps lower supply even more. And if they want to RWT these items, it makes sense that they would try to make them more and more valuable. And how do they accomplish that? They decrease the supply of these items, by any means.

In any case we now have a group with literally trillions upon trillions of gp trying to hammer this market, specifcally. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

In what do you base your afirmation?

I mean I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case...
but you seem to talk like you even know how many trillion they have...

If people continue to post their opinions like they are what is really happening,
this will just become a way of high level manipulation.

If you don't know for a fact what happened, don't make assumptions on it.
State your opinion as a possibility... like Splinter did.

I think that it's very likely that we have manipulators reading all of this and also interveining on both threads, so I think it's wise to make your position clear...

My statement is based on the video by SirPugger who supposedly had insider information and contacts with this group, which is where he obtained all the footage and info. I believe he said about 4 trillion, to be exact.

But you're right, for the record, everything else is just my own theories based on the available evidence. I don't intend to mislead anyone here, and we can all come up with our own conclusions and ideas, of course.

dont think i saw any mention of this yet so i thought i would say something, if jagex banned those accounts and if they did have some legit rares on which they would have to start duping usually these would be dumped on the ge, u can see these ocassionally when a phat trades through the ge however there has not been any in last 30 days this means either they where not baned or that legit rares left the game and where not put into the ge like usual

Save state abuse via crashing is item 1 for anything sent over the internet.
The Anon vid is Call of Duty tween hype in styling.
Worse case is that they genuinely thought they had a chance of actually causing a duplication on any reliable level.
Attempting to, this far into the games life is lunacy or symptomatic of mental impairment.

Unless it's the RWT cartel agenda. You've been memed on.
Play a 360 no scope vid sound and watch the footage of the supposed dupe.
If it was a serious try, they've paperclip the story after crashing the servers.

Only dupe's from this I see, are the ones taking it seriously.

Stacks of cash. Numerical Data that can be recursively searched.
There's so much telemetry in RS3, Windows 10 would blush. In the membrane.

@KingPixal, yes, both banned items and the GE most valuable trades list were mentioned on page 11. My interpretation of wiki’s “Bank Bidders” page was that they couldn’t be reintroduced. It was an idea to sell off banks on banned accounts through an auction, but the idea was tossed. Jagex’s stance may have changed.

@MangeThane, it’s good to consider possible outcomes considering how rares from lower hats to partyhats have jumped this high in such a short period of time. In addition, Jmod JD already commented on Reddit in regards to this. He states, “...we took immediate action across multiple vectors within 24 hours in order to ensure that they didn't go down again, negating the possibility of the dupe... As a direct result of the investigation so far, we've removed billions of GP from the game...”

I see key word "possibility", and no positive assertion that the gp removed was from any manipulation of data.
Given it was a server log and input abuse crash. There's a load of offending acc's that'd be deleted.
And certainly primary accs belonging to the culprits detected via machine fingerprinting. Or in game bragging.

Jagex. They'd say anything to look as if they're doing something technical. Or give a thing added drama. So Reddit has something to generate bumps. In the membrane.
